Significance :
Decrease pH level means that the substance is very acidic, since the lower the number on
the pH scale, the more acidic it is. It also means that the substance has more positive
hydrogen ions than hydroxide ions.
Increase PaCO2 level is caused by pulmonary edema and obstructive lung disease. The
condition of respiratory acidosis is present if the PCO2 number is above 45 mmHg. There
is too much carbon dioxide in the blood. A person with this condition can be confused or
restless and have a low heart rate.
Decreased PaO2 level associated with decreased oxygen levels in the inhaled air,
Anemia, Heart decompensation, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Restrictive
pulmonary disease and Hypoventilation.
Decreased Base Excess may be indicate lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis, ingestion of acids,
cardiopulmonary collapse and shock.
Decrease Oxygen Saturation will fall if inspired oxygen levels are diminished, such as
at increased altitudes. Upper or middle airway obstruction exist ( such as during an acute
asthmatic attack) and significant alveolar lung disease exist, interfering with the free flow
of oxygen across the alveolar membrane.

Significance :
Increase Glucose level Higher-than-normal random blood glucose levels may be a sign of diabetes. In
someone with diabetes, it may mean the diabetes is not well controlled.
