life of holiness.
A demonstration of love and initiative of
God but through a vocation
Everyone is called to exercise the
mission which God has entrusted to us.
All vocations are directed towards the
building up of the Body of Christ.

Consecrated =
Total gift of self made by men, women
and those in religious life.
Giving themselves totally at the
service of Christs love for humankind
and the world.
In chastity, poverty and obedience.

1.1 Consecrated Celibacy =
The renunciation of marriage for religious
reasons.
- Nuns, monks in religious life express
this commitment as a vow.
- Virgins, widows and other men and women
without rule, no community.

1.2 Religious Life (Bro./Sis.)
- A form of life distinguished from other
consecrated life by their liturgical character,
public profession of evangelical counsels of
chastity, poverty and obedience
- Having a common life under a superior.
- Following a way of life to be consecrated
with greater liberty to the love and service
of God and others.

2. Single Blessedness / Single Spirituality /
Consecrated Life in the World
- Called by the Lord to be singularly
focused, even consecrated to making the
Lord Jesus present on earth as it is in
heaven.
- Does not take the identity of a religious
brother or sister.
- They are people that God desires to
leaven the temporal order with the riches
of the Gospel.

3. Married Life / Marriage
- Sacrament instituted by Christ
- Baptized man and woman give
themselves to each other for the
purpose of mutual love and;
- Begetting and educating of their
children. (OT:Yahwist and Priestly)

1. Baptized = To admit into Christianity by
means of baptism; commanded by Jesus
Christ for every believer.
2. Holiness = Implies goodness; a
condition of human nature wherein the
love of God rules; dedicated to sacred
use.
3.Mission = An important assignment
carried out for religious purposes.

4. Vocation = A divine calling that an
individual has to undertake through a
particular life commitment.
5. Chastity = Abstinence from sexual
intercourse.
6. Body of Christ (Corpus Christi) =
- It is referred to the Catholic Church
- The community of believers which
Christ is the head.

discernment, studying of one

self, living a good life in preparation for
a future vocation and developing a
good relationship with the family,
friends and community.
To become a more loving person are
essential things necessary to consider
in discerning our calling or vocation.
