Project Planning and Management is a study that focuses onto how properly we plan and manage our
projects these are the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project
requirements to increase the success of a project it is also a discipline for stating how to complete a project
within a certain timeframe, usually with defined stages, and with designated resources. One view of project
planning divides the activity. Project management is the process and activity of planning, organizing,
motivating, and controlling resources, procedures and protocols to achieve specific goals in scientific or daily
problems. A project is a temporary endeavor designed to produce a unique product, service or result with a
defined beginning and end. Undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives, typically to bring about beneficial
change or added value. The temporary nature of projects stands in contrast with business as usual or
operations, which are repetitive, permanent, or semi-permanent functional activities to produce products or
services. In practice, the management of these two systems is often quite different, and as such requires the
development of distinct technical skills and management strategies.
The OBTL or Outcome Base Teaching and Learning is focused not on what the teacher intends to teach
but rather the emphasis is on what is the outcome from the learner of that teaching is intended to be. The basic
premise of OBTL is that the teaching and learning activities (TLAs) and assessment methods (AMs) are
the intended learning outcomes (ILOs) for the course. In other words, the outcomes determine the curriculum
content, the teaching methods and strategies, and the assessment process. The outcomes also provide a
framework for curriculum evaluation. I think that OBTL is outcomes are more student-centered because, whilst
objectives indicate the intentions of the teacher, outcomes are the specific measurable achievements of the
successful student. In relation to project planning management it is included continuous assessment, group
presentation, self-learning, and individual assignment to assess our learning outcomes.
The project planning and management is responsible for the delegation of roles and tasks, the allocation
of resources, establishing a work plan and a time line, and developing a method for tracking progress and the
completion of tasks. In addition, the project planning management needs to be able to articulate the vision and
goals of the project, distinguishing between primary deliverables and those that are secondary. Rather than
deciding on a set of goals and then assigning people to different roles. As each of us gravitated toward certain
roles, it became more clear which deliverables would become prioritized and which would be secondary. To
help keep myself focused, I have learned that project planning and management do not need to know every
detail of how the project will go from the outset. Rather than feel uncomfortable with my lack of knowledge, I
started to see how I was surrounded by a team of knowledgeable students or group mates who could assist me in
figuring out the relevant information needed to coordinate different aspects of our project.
