Our Purpose...
To reach people with the love of Jesus Christ, provide a safe and
supportive environment, proclaim the standards of Gods truth,
duplicate the Christian life in others, and celebrate the majesty
and works of Our Great God.

New to Salem Heights?

Welcome! We are glad youre here! We invite
you to seek out the folks wearing the Ask Me
badge. Through them you will find information
about the ministries of Salem Heights Church
and how to become involved. Please fill out a
Visitor Card and drop it in one of the offering
boxes as you leave or scan this code to go directly to our website
and fill out a visitor card. We have an excellent nursery and
programs for children newborn through high school. Any of the
ushers will be happy to direct you to the proper classroom. If
you feel more comfortable having your infant with you during
the service, the last row in the Auditorium will be reserved for
parents with small children. There is a private room for nursing
mothers across the hall from the Auditorium with a rocking chair,
changing table and portable crib. For your convenience, it also
includes a monitor to enable you to still hear and view the
service.

Giving Update
THE MINISTRY OF SALEM HEIGHTS CHURCH
The ministry of Salem Heights Church is funded entirely by the
generous giving of Gods people. You will notice that we do not
pass the offering plate; however, there are offering boxes in the
back of the auditorium. We have done this so no one gives out
of compulsion. We believe from the Word of God that the Spirit
of God will lead people towards giving back to God of their first
fruits. ...God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7) and we know
He blesses those who take His Word seriously in every regard.
Thank you for prayerfully supporting Salem Heights financially as
we desire to reach the lost and disciple the Saints.

LUKE
Part 20
Luke 5:1-11
Launch Out Into the Deep
(Revised Edition)

Presented by
Pastor Justin Greene
March 22, 2015

The Lords desire is that we put our relationship with

Him on display in home waters.
To give an
example of this Chuck Swindoll shared ...
My mother loved the woman who lived
across the street from our home who had
married late in life. She really had found
her security in her husband. He was a
wonderful man, and one day, he had a
sudden heart attack and died within
seconds. After his funeral, she began to
visit the gravesite. My mother became very
concerned over her friend Thelma.
She said to me one hot summer afternoon,
Charles, I want you to pray. Im gonna
take these cookies and this lemonade

across the street and Im gonna try to

encourage Thelma. Just pray that her
heart will be open to what I have to say.
Im gonna talk to her about Jesus.
And so I did. My mother, wonderfully, very
graciously, led her to Christ. She said to
Thelma, You know, Thelma, theres
something I need to mention to you. You
really dont need to keep going back to
the cemetery. Oh, she said, Lovell, I just
have to do that. So my mother said,
Well, let me suggest you do it for another
reason. She said, Why dont you go
back, not to try to make a connection
with your husband, but to minister to other
people who are trying to do that.
Thelma took my mothers advice. As a
matter of fact, shes the only cemetery
evangelist I ever knew.
There at the
memorial park in Houston she has led a
number of people to Jesus Christ.
In Luke 5, Jesus calls His disciples to be fishers of
men. As we look at this call ... will you consider
yours?

KEY

A CONSISTENT PATTERN
Launch Out Into the Deep...

At times the deep seems barren.

Barren nets can lead to a Why Bother? heart.

Observation:

Evangelism consistently takes place in deep

Let Down Your Nets...

They responded out of respect, not focused on results.

When your fishing is successful others are eager to join in!
Note:

No fishermen took credit for the catch.

Amazement and anticipation are a great antidote to a

tired attitude.

Successful ministry is often a beautiful and scary mess!

Observation: Success is determined by the architect of the

plan... whose plan are you following?

Do Not Fear, From Now On...

When we see Him for who He is, He shows us who we are!

This leads to...

Confession.

When we see Him do what only He can do, He replaces a

fearful faith with faithful ears. Only then can we hear our...

Calling.

Only when our hearts finally submit do we find ourselves able

to...

Commit.
