If I was a part of the poutine competition I would make a Canadian style
poutine, which would include bacon, lots of cheese, maple syrup, and cilantro. 2. If I were to name my poutine creation, I would call it The Big Canadian. A poutine that contains the things that Canadians love, a poutine that contains bacon and maple syrup (all produced in Canada of course). The one poutine that will make any Canadian shiver in excitement. 3. Because this poutine was really my own creation, I will just write my recipe down here Ingredients: 1. 4- Mushrooms (sliced) 2. 5 pieces- cilantro (destemmed, and minced) 3. 7-bacon strips 4. 1 tbsp- butter 5. 1 garlic clove minced 6. 1 tbsp- mustard 7. 1 tbsp- Worcestershire 8. 1 tbsp - maple syrup 9. Pinch of Salt 10.2 cups beer (OPTIONAL) 11.4 potatoes or precooked French fries 12.5 tbs of brown sugar 13.15-20 Cheese curds or how many you want 14.1 cup of packaged shredded cheddar cheese Cooking instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F 2. Rub brown sugar on the bacon strips 3. Prepare a tray lined with parchment paper and place the bacon on the tray 4. Once oven is preheated but the bacon in and set the timer for 15-18 min 5. While youre waiting start to slice the mushrooms, mince the garlic, and mince the cilantro 6. Once the bacon is done take them out and put them on a plate lined with a paper towel then chop up the bacon 7. Take a sauce pan and add the bacon grease, and butter then wait for the butter to melt. Then add the flour (mix until a paste starts to form), then add the garlic and stir again. Then whisk together beer (if not then add some cream instead), mustard, Worcestershire sauce, maple syrup, and salt. Stir over a low heat. When all done add the chopped bacon and mushrooms, stir one last time 8. (If using packaged potatoes then skip this step). Cut up some potatoes and put them in a pot with oil under medium heat. Fry the potatoes to your liking or until golden brown. 9. Now start to construct the poutine. First add the fries and cheese curds, then add the gravy and top it off with cilantro and cheddar cheese. 10. And youre done!!
