Biography of Brian K. Fox, CW3, USA (Ret.)

Biography
Brian K. Fox (B.K.) is a retired Army Chief Warrant Officer helicopter pilot. He has a
combined eight years with the Boy Scouts as a youth and adult leader and currently serves
as a Scoutmaster. During high school and for his first two years in the active duty military,
B.K. was in the Civil Air Patrol where he was trained in Search and Rescue (SAR) from both
the air and ground. He served four years in the Navy and six years in the infantry and left his
duty as a reconnaissance squad leader to serve the next 12 years as an Army Aviator.
Brian has received Air Force cold weather survival training, Navy open water survival training
and aircraft emergency egress training. He graduated from the Army Jungle Aircrew Survival
Course in Panama and the Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Course (SERE level
B) at Fort Campbell (a course that met or exceeded level C requirements in all aspects but
lacked only a resistance lab.) He served as a SERE Survival Instructor for four years at Fort
Campbell and as an Air Assault Instructor for one year at Fort Belvoir training hundreds of
students.
B. K. also graduated from the Air Assault Course, Rappel Master Course, Navy Nuclear,
Biological & Chemical Course, Army Nuclear Biological & Chemical Officer Course,
Electronic Warfare Officer Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Central Texas College First
Responder Course, Joint Firepower Control Course, Joint Services Interior Intrusion
Detection Systems Course, Combating Terrorism on Military Installations Course, Joint
Personnel Recovery Agency Personnel Recovery Course, Defense Language Institute
Spanish Language Course and numerous leadership courses.

As a Tactical Operations Officer it was B.K.s job to keep pilots and crew members alive in combat through vigorous multi-faceted training and
sound combat mission planning. He was responsible for all aspects of search, rescue and recovery of downed aircrew within the unit. He personally
trained over 800 soldiers from the 101st Airborne in desert survival skills in the Kuwaiti desert in preparation for the assault into Iraq during
Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Some of B.K.s military decorations include: Expert Infantryman Badge, Senior Army Aviator Badge, Navy Surface Warfare Specialist Badge, Air
Assault Badge, Expert Rifle/Pistol Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army
Achievement Medal (6), Nicaraguan Medal for Honor of Military Merit, Soldier of the Fatherland, First Class (Gold) and others.
B.K. is currently President of Fox Kits, Inc. and Chief Instructor for Fox Kits Wilderness Survival School.
