DIGIPAK ANALYSIS

Three fold digipak. This case holds three sides, two of

which are used as display space for information regarding
the album/tracks/artist or simply as a space for visual art
and eye catching images.
The centre space holds the CD, creating a symmetrical
and well balanced display. When folded, the album case
lays flat, taking up a minimal about of space.

Two fold digipak. This case contains just two interior

faces, allowing for either two CDs or one CD and
text/imagery. The reduced number of faces means that
the album will be lighter and less cumbersome, however
it would also mean that any additional information would
have to be printed on a separate booklet or page which
would be placed within the digipak.

DIGIPAK ANALYSIS

This is an example of a threefold digipak. The colour

and artwork used on this digipak reflect the genre of
music, suggesting tranquil and mellow track
content. The application a background image
encompassing the entire case breaks apart the solid
shapes and creates a free flowing and multi-depth
surface.
By centralising the text on each side of the CD, the
symmetrical and balanced structure is retained. The
use of small and plainly coloured text ensures that
focus is not entirely drawn away from the CD itself
while still proving to be clear and legible.

This is an example of a twofold digipak. The interior

of the case contains two faces, each with a holder
for the two CDs. This means that all information
about the album/tracks/artist would be located in a
small booklet (visible in photo) as there would be
insufficient space for it to be printed onto the
interior faces.
The album art again reflects clearly the genre of
music which is a key aspect for any form of

DIGIPAK ANALYSIS

The use of a minimal single fold design has proven

to be rather effective, reflecting the cleanliness and
simplicity of this digipaks design. The use of a single
bright colour creates solid eye catching form that is
also aesthetically inviting due to the particular hue
of the colour. The use of a yellow sun set like colour
reflects the title of the album (Sun Year Long) and
also suggests that the music may be rather relaxed
and soothing.

The use of a solid black background instantly

suggests that the music is less relaxed than the
previous digipak. By incorporating bright neon
green into the images, there is a clear and direct
link to club and party environments, suggesting that
the album contains some form of dance music. The
use of a threefold album has also allowed for the
inclusion of more information regarding the
artist/producer and also provides space for further
decorative images and graphics.
