Learning outcome:
At the end of the lesson students will have a clear
concept on stars, the milky way, constellations,
planets and dwarf planets.
Opening Activity( 5 minutes)
A pre-quiz is taken. The following questions may be
asked. List space rocks that pose threat to Earth.
(Answers can be asteroids, comets, large meteorites.
What is the milky way? (Galaxy to which our
solar system belongs)
What causes tides? (Combined gravitational
pool of moon and sun)
Distinguish between satellites and shooting
stars. (Satellites move constantly and evenly)

Group Activity (30 minutes)


The whole class is divided into 3 groups and they are
assigned with different topics which they have to
understand by going through the book and then
explain to their fellow classmates. The topics that will
be assigned are- The milky way, stars and
constellations, planets and dwarf planets.
Closing Activity ( 5 minutes)
Teacher gives feedback and explains a few concepts if
necessary and also corrects the mistakes of the
students.
Agenda: Explain why planets are sometimes
mistaken for stars.
Explain why Pluto is no longer considered as a planet.

Learning outcome:
At the end of the lesson students will know whether
astrology should be used or not unless it is
scientifically proved.
The whole class will be taken in IT lab.
Opening Activity( 10 minutes)
Students will be taken to the IT Lab and will be made
to settle down there. The teacher will give the topic
for a debate and she will give necessary instructions.
The topic will be Astrology should not be used unless
it can be proven scientifically.
