Describe 10 jobs or occupations


1. Chef/ Kitchener
A chef is a person who works in a kitchen, is the
chief of the kitchen.
The chef supervises the preparation and
cooking of food and meals for companies like
hotels, restaurants and hospitals. In big
restaurants the chefs are organized in teams with
different responsibilities.
In little kitchens, the chef can work alone or
with one or two assistants, but in big kitchens he
needs many assistants.
The chef uses his creativity and imagination to
think of new ideas for the menu and food
presentation. He uses cookware, the most
essentials are knifes, chopping board, whetstone,
tongs, vegetable peeler, bowls, grater, spatulas,
balloon whisk, strainers and kitchen brush, etc.
The chef wears a white Filipina, black trousers, a white apron and a kind of
white cap called toque Blanche.
2. Painter
A painter is a person whose job is the
decoration and protection of walls,
and interior and outer surfaces
through the application of paint.
The
painter
is
hired
by
constructors and homeowners. He
uses some tools, such as scraper
glass, paint rollers, palette knives,
many kinds of brushes and, the most
important, paintwork.
The painter wears a white
jumpsuit, a mask and gloves.

3. Writer
A writer is a person who uses written words to
communicate their ideas.
The writer produces different ways of literature art
and creative writing to communicate his ideas, such
as novels, stories, poems, screenplays, songs,
newspaper articles and essays.
The writer works in offices, in his home or in any
place where he has a computer. Nowadays, he only
uses a computer and his thoughts to write a good
book or screenplays. He always has a notebook.
Wherever the writer goes, he always carries a
notebook to write any idea that comes to his mind at
any time.
4. Doctor
A doctor is a professional who practices medicine
and tries to keep and restore human health trough
the study, diagnosis and treatment of illness or
injury of the patient.
The doctors work in hospitals, clinics and
health centres. They wear black trousers, black
shoes, and a white coat over a shirt or T-shirt. They
use some tools, such as stethoscope, blood
pressure
monitor,
thermometer,
otoscope,
ophthalmoscope, tongue depressors, and etcetera.

5. Hairdresser
A hairdresser is a professional who advises the dress,
hairstyle, generally, the image and aesthetics of
his/her customers.
The hairdressers usually guide themselves with
fashion and current trends.
The hairdressers work in a beauty shop, in their
home or provides serves home. They wear an apron
over their clothes. They use some tools, such as
scissors, combs, dryer, brushes and hair iron,
etcetera.

6. Teacher

A teacher is a person who is professionally


engaged in teaching. Is a person who is
specialized in a particular area of knowledge,
subject, academic discipline, science or art.
The teachers work in schools, they teach
children or teenagers.
The teacher uses a blackboard and chalks,
or a whiteboard and markers, pictures, posters
and books, etcetera.
Sometimes, the teacher uses games or
dynamics for his classes be interesting and
entertaining.
7. Carpenter
A carpenter is a person who works with wood. He can
make doors, windows and furniture. He works alone or
with an assistant.
The carpenter works in a workshop or in
constructions. He uses a lot of tools, such as drill,
hammer, saw, pencil, nails, brush and stair, etcetera.

8. Postman
A postman is a person who distribute the letters and
mail packages.
The postman works in a post office and he goes
out to deliver the correspondence.
He wears a blue uniform and a cap, and is
transported by car or a motorcycle. He saves the
letters in a bag.

9. Photographer

A photographer is a person whose occupation is take photos of what happens.


The photographer works in a photo studio or in places where family portraits
are taken, for magazines or newspapers, or in social events.
He uses a camera to take photos, and uses some software like Photoshop,
Gimp and Corel Draw, to edit and retouch the pictures.

10.
Architect
An architect is a professional who
projects, designs, builds and maintains
buildings, cities and different kinds of
structures.
The
architect
works
in
construction
companies,
in
the
government or in his home. He uses
some tools, such as computers and
software, printers, tape measure, digital
camera, rulers, square, protractor,
stylus, a drawing table, etcetera.
