 Leadership Covenant

I, _______________________ recognize that by applying

for this position in ministry at Parkwood Baptist Church, I
am setting myself up as an example for those who will look
up to me as a leader. With this in mind, I covenant before
God and the members of Parkwood Baptist Church to
conduct myself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus
Christ (Philippians 1:27), reflecting my salvation as one
chosen by God for His purposes to serve His body
(Ephesians 4:11-13). I understand that others will be
watching my life, and I will daily make the effort to grow
spiritually and to live in such a way that others can “Follow
my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1
Corinthians 1:11).
I also recognize that the message of the Church is that of
Christ, the cross, and what is clear in Scripture. I
understand that those who are in leadership positions much
show extra care because of their influence on others, and
even in areas of debate or Christian liberty, I will seek to live
with Paul's attitude of concern to build up and not hurt
others (Romans 14:19, 20).

 Statement of Beliefs

As a servant of Parkwood Baptist Church, I agree to the

following Statement of Beliefs:

We believe the Bible is verbally inspired by God, authoritative, and

without error in the original manuscripts (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21;
John 10:35; Matthew 5:18).

We believe there is one God who exists in three persons, Father,

Son, and Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes, but without
division of nature, essence, or being (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians
13:14)

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life,
miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily
resurrection, ascension into Heaven, and His return to earth in power
and glory (John 1:1, 14 6:19; Luke 1:26-38, 21:27; 2 Corinthians 5:21;
Romans 3:24; Matthew 28:6; Hebrews 7:25, 8:1; Acts 1:11)

We believe man was created by God in His own image. By his free
choice man sinned against God and brought sin in to the human race.
Man fell from his original innocence resulting that all inherit a nature
and an environment inclined toward sin (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans
3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)
We believe salvation is offered freely to all who repent and accept
Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained
eternal redemption for the believer (Romans 5:8, 8:1-4; John 3:16-19,
5:24; Ephesians 2:8-10)
