We created a new client (client 400 from client 000 using SCC4).

When we try to log


in to the new 400 client we cant access it. The following procedure explains the
steps needed to complete the client copy.
First step is to allow the user SAP* to be automatically created when a client is
created:
Run transaction RZ10, Select instance profile, Extended maintenance and change.
The following screen appears:

Click create parameter button (circle above) and the next screen appears. Fill it out
exactly as it appears:

Click on copy.

Green arrow back one screen


Back again.
Click save

Click save again.


At this point acknowledge the messages.
YOU MUST stop and start SAP at the server for the changes to take effectstop and
restart your instance.
Run transaction FINB_TR_WZ
Use 000 and click execute
Click continue
The following screen appears:

Continue

Make no changes (DO NOT ENTER A PASSWORD), click continue


Click Complete
The following screen appears:

Write down the name of your RFC destination, you will need it in the next step.
Click ok.
Run transaction FINB_TR_DEST
Click on new entries (000 does not exist). The following screen appears:

Enter 000 for client and your RFC destination (just created) in the DEST. Field. Hit
enter. Click Save.
We cant do the next step as user SAP* so we will create an ID that you can use.
Follow the instructions below:
Run transaction SU01, click on the copy icon. Copy from SAP* to your CMU Global
ID (we are creating your cmich user ID in client 000). Give yourself a password.
Click save.
Log into client 000 with your global ID and password (just created) for the following
procedures. NOTE: SAP* will not work for this process.
Then run transaction SCC4:
Click change.
Double-click 000

Enter FINBTR in logical system and click enter, it should not let you create it - Click
on Red message at the bottom of the screen. Then click on the customizing button
in the popup window (in the menu bar at the top of the popup)

On the Change View Logical systems overview screen click on NEW ENTRIES.

Fill the screen out as above.


Click save.
You will be prompted to create a transport. The screen below appears.

Click on create (the piece of paper).

Fill out the name (short description) of the transport and click save.

Click the green check (your transport number will look something like the red
highlight above).
Now the logical system is saved.
Arrow back until you return to the client screen and close the performance assistant
(help screen).
Using the drop down choose the logical system that was just created:

Hit enter.
Hit save.

Kick off client copy:


NOTE: Make sure you have restarted the SAP instance after the parameter change
above.
log into the new client 400.

Client: 400
User ID: SAP*
Password: pass (all lower case)
Run transaction SCCL to do a local client copy. Fill out the screen exactly as shown
below.

You will have to use the drop down button to select the profile and the source client
for masters.
Click on Schedule as a background job

Click ok (we do really want the SAP_CUST profile).


Next screen is:

Click IMMEDIATELY and then click schedule Job. (Note: screen shot may not match
what you have).
The system will begin the client copy. You can use transactions Scc3 or sm37
monitor the progress.
