Apr. 2, Thurs.-7 p.m.-New this year, our annual Maundy Thursday service will be
a Joint - Maundy Thursday Service @ Red Run Mennonite Church. This Tenebrae
service (service of shadows) will be a time to read Scripture and reflect on the
sufferings of Jesus. The service will be held in the sanctuary at Red Run. Since this
involves two congregations, we also plan a time of simple refreshments and
fellowship in the fellowship hall downstairs after the service. This can be a time of
encouragement and getting acquainted, even as we continue the reflection from the
service with quiet conversations. Child care for young children will be provided. A
two-year plan: 2015 service at Red Run, then 2016 service at Gehman. Please note
that service will follow a different format than the services held separately in recent
years by both congregations. For this year, this service will not include a meal,
communion, or footwashing.
Apr. 5, Sun.-Easter Sunday - There will be no fellowship meal lunch. A light
breakfast will be served.
Apr. 11&12- Ladies Retreat-There is a display showing our project for the
weekend. Sign-up sheets for food and attendance are on the table.
Apr. 14 , Tues. & 20, Mon.-Join Global Disciples at the annual Lancaster banquets
on Tues., at Yoders Restaurant in New Holland or Mon., at Double Tree Palm
Court in Willow Valley to hear how Global Disciples is compelled by the love of
Christ to reach the least reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dinner begins at
6:30 p.m. To register, please call 717-290-7550, or at www.globaldisciples.org.
There is no charge to attend. A free will offering will be taken.
Apr. 16, Thu,- 6 p.m. - "Ladies Night Out" will be held at Woodcrest Retreat.
Enjoy a delightful evening with a delicious hot buffet. Tamyra Horst will creatively
present how you can "Hug the Heart" of your family and friends, impacting their
lives with God's love. Special music by Monica Stoltzfus and Caitlin Sellers.
Cost: $15 Call 717-738-2233 by April 9 for reservations.
Apr. 18, Sat.-GMS Chicken BBQ & Bake Sale. Leg & Thigh -$4.25, Half Chicken
- $6.75, Leg & Thigh Meal - $7.25, Half Chicken Meal - $9.25. For advance tickets,
see Kylie Hoover or Autumn, Janae, Zachary, or Mark Sauder by April 8.
-We are trying to revive the photo directory project. There is a very rough draft
on the table in the narthex. Many family or individual photos are missing or are
already outdated. Photos may be taken most Sundays after church, or email a photo
