After getting the license, you have to be ready to come into the real world and compete
as public accountant. Lucky you, because in Indonesia, the competition to be public
accountant is not really heavy, yet. In fact, our country lacks of the number of PA. About
50% (klik, metu angka tok, gedhe) or more PA work in (klik metu panah sko angka

have the equal demand for the number of PA to support their economic growth.

heavier competition). Job seekers from other countries will come to

Indonesia more freely, while the profession as accountant is going to be one of the most
wanted vacancies. Accountants from other countries may have better experience and
skills than the local ones, and it will endanger the local accountants within the
competition. Therefore, we need to prepare ourselves to face the competition in AFTA.
Here are some strategies that we can learn:
(klik slide, metu tulisan Strategies to Compete in AFTA)
1. Optimism
Becoming a pesimistic wont get us anywhere. We have to be optimistic to win the
competition.
2. Quality improvement
If we want to be able to compete, of course we need to improve our quality. We have
never known the skill level of our opponent in the competition. Therefore, we must
improve and extend our skills.

3. Professionalism
Not only in global market, professionalism is also needed in every aspect of our
profession. There are at leat four criteria so that an accountant can be called as
professional. Here they are (klik, point e terserah muncul siji2 opo langsung

a. Having accountant registration number as regulated in the Constitution
b. Having practical experience of the profession in accounting field, practiced
