Process:

First I scanned my image of Captain America. Then I used

the Microsoft Word program to create the design. I used the
textbox tool, shape tool, and guides to make sure my text was
aligned as well as to make sure there was white space in my
image. Next I had my ad critiqued and that gave me direction
so that I could simplify my ad so the message was clear. After
I created my image, I modified my page so that I could print
it with narrow margins.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

Objectives:

Set up and align a folded document. Learn how to wrap text

around an image. Use paragraph styles in InDesign.

Process:

I set up the fold in Adobe InDesign. I split my layout into four

sections with the concept that the two outer sections would
be the flaps of the brochure and the bottom and top sections
would be the front and opening of the brochure. I chose the
models for my design to show of the spring sale, these images also went with my color scheme. For the image of the girl
in the navy blue dress on the back I used the quick selection
tool in Adobe Photoshop to remove the background of the
image. I then used the refine mask to the outline of the model. Then I placed the model image into InDesign where I
used the text wrap option to wrap my text around the alpha
channel of the image.

Program(s)/Tools:
Canon PowerShot Camera, Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Learn the basic of photography skills.

Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels.
Use filter or colorize a portion of the image.

Process:

First I formulated a plan by choosing a color scheme. The

color scheme I chose was triadic. I set up my picture in the
kitchen and used indoor lighting then I used the pie as the
gold and I added apples for the red color. In photoshop I first
started by adjusting the levels, sharpness, saturation, and color
balance. Then I design an 8.511 layout that including my
photo, text, and creating the Marie Callenders logo. I incorporate my color scheme title, color swatches, and color names
into my logo design. I also even added the teal in order to
complete the color scheme.

First I sketched the design on a piece of paper and I scanned

it into my computer. I opened my scanned image into Adobe
Illustrator and used the pen tool to out line the shapes I had
drawn. After I selected three different color schemes and put
those into the three images I created with the pen tool. Next
I chose my contrasting fonts and implemented them into two
of my logos.

Learn to manager Photoshop layers. Blend images together

smoothly, using masks. Use filters.

I cropped the Milky Way Galaxy background image to 8.5 x

11. I selected the clock and moved it to the background, then
I added a mask. With black paint and 63% opacity, soft-edge
brush, I painted away the hard edges. With a 25% opacity, I
used a black brush to make it look like the clock it was melting into the galaxy. I repeated the process with the hourglass,
painting away the hard edges, but keeping the middle of the
hourglass more visible than the clock.I added a layer of vintage paper and adjusted the layer to overlay with an opacity
of 58%.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign

Objectives:

Apply design principles using typography. Incorporate basic

InDesign skills to create a flier layout.

Process:

I first created four sketches of a layout for a flier. Then I

opened up a InDesign program and figured out how to use
the selection tool, color switch boxes, rectangle tool, and text
tool. I created boxes where I put in the text for the flier and
I lowered the opacity to 83% so the black boxes would not
stand out as much. I created a project folder with image, logo,
and InDesign document to keep links intact. Lastly I inserted
the images and created visual flow and alignment.

Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:

Size and optimize my logo as a png for a web page. Write

content to describe the process of creating your logo. Design
a web page using HTML and basic understanding of CSS

Process:

I created this web page using TextWrangler. After I learned

how to code all my content and inserted my logo, I attached a
pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then used the colors from my logo and implemented them into my webpage.
I found these colors by using Photoshops eyedropper tool. I
changed my fonts to Helvetica. I declared some backup fonts
just in case the viewers browser doesnt have Helvetica. In
CSS I learned how to change my background-color to a background. In Illustrator I created a simple background design
and placed it into my webpage.
