Study plan in China

My name is Jelena Vujii, my Chinese name is Wu Yali. I graduated from

a general Grammar school, and as long as I can remember I had a passion for
languages. Ever since I realised that languages are my strong side and that I am
able to learn and embrace language systems easily, I dedicated a big amount of
my time to learning English, German and now Chinese. I love talking to people all
around the world, and it really is a good feeling when I am the one who can
establish a relationship not only between me and another human being from the
other side of the planet, but a relationship between countries, cultures and habbits.
Since I've started learning Chinese,I am proud to say that I've been able to cope up
with any task that I have encountered during this school year. My passion for
learning Chinese enabled me to achieve excellent results and in academic year
2012/2013. While in China, I plan on expanding my vocabulary, learning as much
Chinese characters as possible, getting to know more about China's literature and
history, and being able to start to talk fluently and embrace every-day-talk
patterns.
First of all, in China I will have the chance to study with international students;
meet different people which immediately means that I will expand my knowledge of
other cultures. I hope those relationships may lead to future cooperation because I
am sure that my peers will be the most gifted students. I think I should be hard
working and will try as much as I can to work as a team with other people in my
class.
If awarded this scholarship, I plan to take the following steps.
During my studying in China, I plan to maximize my Chinese experience by taking
classes in Chinese language, grammar and Chinese characters. I would also like to
take several classes in Chinese literature, because I find it very interesting and a lot
different than that of any other language Im familiar with.
The scholarship will fund my education to study Chinese language at a Chinese
university for one year. The three universities I have chosen are Tianjin University,
Xian International and Nankai University. I believe that all of these, regardless of
which one I will go to, would definitely live up to my expectations, since these
universities have good teaching methods, facilities and long histories in teaching
Chinese.
I hereby must say that I feel very blessed and honoured to be one of those rare
students who get such a tremendous opportunity like this. In order to prove just
how much I appreciate it, I will give 100% of myself and do the best I can, and
hopefully return to my country with a better, improved Chinese speaking, reading

and listening skills, and of course with better knowledge in Chinese culture, folklore
and habits.
