Please find enclosed two different National Alumni Scholarship application forms. Please feel
free to make more copies. It is important that you share this information with your Alumni
members in order for the Scholarship Committee to have a fair representation of all areas of
the NAA.

Please adhere to the deadline. Applications are due by June 15th. That is the
absolute deadline! The committee will review all applications in a timely manner
in order to get the Scholarship Awards posted by July 1st at the University.

NAA Scholarship Program For Incoming Freshman Students Only

All Scholarships are based
upon available funds.

Description of Scholarships

Academic Achievement
Award

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who has

demonstrated excellence through academic achievement.
Criteria: 1650 or greater SAT score or a 23 or greater ACT score and a 3.5
GPA or better. Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student and
maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA to be considered for a second semester
award which will be determined by the national scholarship chair.

Herman Davis Award

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior who has

demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership and a
special talent.
Criteria: 1420 or greater SAT score or a 21 or greater ACT score and a 3.0
or better GPA. Selection is not based on financial need.

High School Award

This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior. Recipients

are selected from geographical areas where an active alumni chapter
exists. This is a one-time semester award.
Criteria: 1350 or greater on SAT score or a 21 or greater on ACT score; 2.5
or better GPA and enrolled at FAMU as a full-time student.

Book Stipend Award

This scholarship is awarded to any student that can demonstrate a

financial need for assistance with books up to $500.00
Criteria: A student may receive this award once during his/her
matriculation at FAMU. Must be enrolled full-time. Documentation will be
requested by the National Scholarship Chair or the chapter president if
the recipient is from an area where a chapter exists.

Special note: All awards will be forwarded directly to FAMU upon evidence of recipients
acceptance at FAMU. Communication will be sent by the chair of the scholarship committee to
each recipient receiving a specific scholarship award.

counselor, one letter from a community leader or an employer. An acceptance letter from
FAMU.
