OF REQUEST (CR)
PURPOSE:
To get familiar with the parameters being used by TMC engineers every day
while creating CR.
WCDMA technology has a large number of parameters. However, this object
covers a few very important parameters.
This object contains the parameters definition and their commonly used
values.
Engineers will be able to refer quickly to the definitions of the parameters
which they use in every day work.
A good document for new engineers who joins the RF tuning team.
INDEX
SHO_C ( Soft Handover core): Used for intra frequency handover for pre launch purposes. Used
when cells are needed for soft(er) handover.
HHO_IF_C ( Hard Handover inter frequency core) : Used for inter freq handover at core
locations as needed.
HHO_IF_B ( Hard Handover inter frequency border ) : Used for inter freq handover at border
locations as needed.
HHO_IR_B ( Hard Handover IRAT border ) : Used for IRAT handover at border locations as
needed.
HHO_IR_C ( Hard Handover IRAT core ) : Used for IRAT handover at core locations as needed.
6. sIntraSearch :
The decision on when measurements on GSM freq shall be performed is made using sRatSearch.
The decision is made in relation to Squal and sHcsRat parameters.
If Squal > sRatSearch and Srxlev > sHcsRat ; UE doesnt need to perform measurement on GSM cells.
If Squal <= sRatSearch and/or Srxlev <= sHcsRat ; UE needs to perform measurement on GSM cells.
8.FDDQMIN :
The algorithm for cell resection from GSM back to WCDMA is controlled with the parameter FDDQMIN and
FDDQOFF.
The parameter FDDMIN defines the minimum quality of a WCDMA cell for cell reselection , measured in CPICH
Ec/No.
The mobile will reselect a suitable WCDMA cell if the following cell resection criteria are fulfilled:
CPICH Ec/No > FDDQMIN FDDQMINOFF
CPICH RSCP > RLA + FDDQOFF
CPICH RSCP > FDDRSCPMIN min((P-21 dBm),3 dBm)
Where FDQMINOFF can be used to make the requirement of signal quality less attractive for mobiles that support
the signal strength criterion.
Where P is the maximum RF output power of the UE in WCDMA.
