5. Upgrade Process:
Please always follow the steps below.
Step 1: Connect a PC to Ethernet switch and configure static IP setting for the PC
(For example, IP is 192.168.1.33 and subnet is 255.255.255.0). The purpose of static
IP setting is to guarantee the PC can stably send packets.
Step 2: Doubly click the specific ExpressBoot utility received from WX RD center,
then click Start button to send the packets containing the content of firmware. If the
utility successfully run, you can see the packets counter is increasing. Please keep the
utility run until you finish the rework of all devices.

Step 3: Connect the device to switch, then power on the device and the firmware
upgrade will be accomplished automatically. The device will automatically receive
firmware from Ethernet network, then erase flash to upgrade firmware. The SYS LED
indicates the progress. When receive firmware and erase flash, the SYS LED blinks in
a low frequency (1 time per second) and NEVER power off device during the
process. When the upgrade is finished, the SYS LED blinks in a high frequency (25
times per second). If fails, the SYS LED is off.
Step 4: When the upgrade is finished (SYS LED blinks in a high frequecny), just
power off the device and disconnect from switch and connect another device to
switch.
Step 5: Please check the items in section 6 Test Plan to make sure the firmware
upgrade is successfully finished.

6. Test Plan
After firmware upgrade, it is better to doubly check the items below to make sure the
firmware is successfully upgraded. In order to save the cost of rework, it is supposed
that branch office will not open the housing and just telnet to device to issue sys
atsh command to doubly check items below.
