Reflection: Review each Program Action Plan (CD 4001A) submitted in the FY 2013-14 Program Self-Evaluation Report. As
the FY 2012-13 Action Steps would be different or unique to the contract type and age group, a separate reflection and
narrative for each is required.
Below, provide a narrative summarizing the outcome of each action step. Record how each action step was successfully
accomplished. If there were modifications or revisions to the action steps, reflect on and record the outcome of those
changes.
After reviewing each Program Action Plan submitted in the FY 2013-2014 the areas in need of growth for the Desire Result
Developmental Profile (DRDP) were Measure 20: Phonological Awareness; Measure 23: Comprehension of English and
Measure 32: Number Sense of Quantity When Counting.
Measure 20: Phonological Awareness
The teachers engaged in Professional Development on Phonological Awareness, they were exposed to varied methods and activities
that enhanced their knowledge on how to teach children concepts of storytelling, identify syllables and compound words. They
exposed children to added opportunities to engage in phonics and language activities (chants, songs, poems, read aloud, finger play,
etc.)
Measure 23: Comprehension of English
Staff participated in Professional Development on English Language Learners. They were provided with resources on ways to present
stories, fingerplay activities, songs and rhymes in English. They created a learning environment that is literacy rich to support
students English comprehension.
32: Number Sense of Quantity When Counting
Staff participated in Professional Development on the topic of Number Sense and Quantity when Counting. Staff where provided with
resources to enhance their knowledge on methods to model and teach number sense. The teachers incorporated math activities that
enhanced learning in number sense such as matching, counting, classifying and sorting objects.
