D&D 5e is 2014 Wizards of the Coast. To make full use of this spreadsheet you will need a copy of the Player's
Handbook.

WARNING: Do not change the values in yellow cells or you will cause the spreadsheet to
malfunction. You may freely type in other cells in order to make this better suit your needs.
To manually add line breaks within a cell, simply type Ctrl+Enter.
Please note that, unlike my character creator, this document has no drop-downs (except the
Yes/No one for skills) and very few formulas since its purpose is to store lots of characters
rather than crafting individuals. That also means it won't need updating, so you don't have to
worry about copying over your characters every time a new book releases.
The relative simplicity also means that this should function perfectly in any spreadsheet
program. My character creator, on the other hand, makes use of some OpenOffice Calc
features that MS Office lacks, because the only other solutions I've found are macros, which
some people wisely disable.
There are, in fact, only three formulas used in this document. One calculates your attribute
modifiers for you, one your skill values, and the last your proficiency bonus.
I made this for three reasons:
1) To keep all of my characters together in one place.
2) To have all of my characters backed up on Box and Dropbox in case something ever
happens to my paper character sheets.
2) To save disk space, especially on thumbdrives and Dropbox, etc.
Because of block sizes, having all of your characters in separate files can waste a lot of drive
space. This document avoids that by providing a single location where any number of
characters can be stored and referenced later.
As an example of what I mean, when I first made this I had 11 D&D 5e characters in separate
text files. They total 70.2 KiB, but actually use up 96 KiB because of block sizes. The reason is
that my hard drive has a 4 KiB block size, which means that every file will take up a multiple of
4KiB. Since 4 KiB is 4096 bytes, a 5000 B file will use two blocks, and therefore 8 KiB, or 8192
B.
As of update 1.2 this document is 31.6 KiB, which uses 8 blocks, or 32 KiB, to hold four
characters and these instructions. My personal copy, holding those original 11 characters plus
eight more that I have since made, uses 71.3, or 18 blocks totalling 72 KiB, still less than the 96
KiB the original 11 text files used.

Character Background and Other Notes
As portrayed in the books Tarzan would have a minimum of 16 in each stat, so this is my best estimate within the limitations of the system.
