the states electorate agreed and
the referendum passed.

Nancy Case completes her term

on the Kohler School Board
Be sure to place
Submitted by Kohler School
Board President Marlene Yang
The School Board would like
to thank Nancy Case for her year
of service to the Kohler School
community. Case was appointed
to fill a Board vacancy in early
2014. She decided to not seek an
elected term of office in the recent April elections.
Beginning 2010, Case has also
been a Board member of the
Kohlers Performing Arts Organization, and was President in 2011

and 2012. She has been a Room

Parent and has recently joined the
Kohler Soccer Club to help advance this sport in the District. In
each organization, Ms. Case has
been a fully engaged, passionate
member.
Serving on the Kohler School
Board has been a wonderful and
eye opening experience. I look forward to avid participation as a supportive parent and look forward to
the new Boards continued improvement of our Kohler schools

during this challenging political

climate said Case.
Beyond Kohler Schools, Ms.
Case has recently begun serving as
a legal advocate for children via
the Guardian Ad Litem program
and is an active member of the
Sheboygan County Bar Association. Ms. Case is an extremely active member or our community
and the Kohler School Board was
privileged to have her services this
past year.

I would to thank the Kohler
boys basketball team, the community of Kohler, and members
of the Central Lakeshore Conference for supporting me in my
fight against cancer. I feel very
fortunate to be surrounded by
such a great community.
The boys basketball team,
spearheaded by Aiden Hogan, developed a unique fundraiser
where they designed wristbands
with the slogan, We will fight
this together. One Family
#KampyStrong. The wristbands
were given away at home games
for donations. It was very uplifting to see the players and community come together to show their
support. And I continue to be
amazed to see the wristbands on
the arms of friends and family. I
am forever grateful for the prayers
and support from the team and
greater community.
Thank you from Coach Kampman and Family!

some names with the faces.
If you cant make it in, we
can certainly make copies
for you (about 24 at a time)
and deliver them to you.

The library has earned a

grant that will allow us to
digitalize our collection. If
you have historic photos
that you are willing to share
with us, please contact Erin
to set up a time to bring
them in. They will be
scanned and returned to
you immediately.

High school music students enjoy

unique learning experience at
Walt Disney World
By Megan Conklin
In the early hours of the morning on March
19, one hundred and fifty Kohler High
School band and choir students, parent chaperones, and music department staff embarked
on an adventure that will not be soon forgotten. The next four days would prove to be the
experience of a lifetime as they enjoyed the
2015 Band and Choir Performance Tour at
Walt Disney World.
Fresh from the airport, students spent the
rest of the day soaking up the Florida sun and
discovering magic that exists at Disney, from
jungle safaris, to the Carousel of Progress, to
fantastic fireworks.
Friday was performance day! Members of
both the Symphony Band and the Concert
Choir had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to
perform at the Waterside Stage in the Downtown Disney Marketplace. Tunes from our
local talent floated out over the lagoon, attracting passersby to stop for a listen. The
music didnt stop there, however, as students
spent Saturday behind the scenes at the Epcot
Studios working with Disney professionals
to simulate singing and playing in a recording
studio just as professional musicians do. Both

the New

the bands and choirs recordings were then

synched with a Disney movie so that Kohler
students were actually creating the soundtracks!
After one last adventure in the theme
parks, all 150 travelers had to bid Florida
adieu and make the return trip to Kohler
Sunday evening.
The students would like to thank the Performing Arts Organization for monetarily
making this trip possible, the Kohler school
administrators for allowing the trip to coincide with a long weekend, the parent chaperones for keeping us safe and making sure
they drank enough water, and the music department staff for preparing them for this experience and for always encouraging them to
do their best.
