MatLab 2010 Installation Steps

To install MatLab, you will need an activation code and license file, which will be supplied to you when you order MatLab
through Software Licenses.
If you are installing from the download server (or are installing from a disk that doesnt auto load), click on the
setup.exe icon to start the installation process.
You may see these windows for a
bit when you start the installation
process as it configures and
prepares the installer files:

On the Installer Welcome window,

choose the Install manually
without using the Internet option
and click Next:

Read through the license

agreement, choose Yes if you
agree to the terms, then click Next:

Choose the I have the File

Installation Key for my license
option and enter the number you
were given with your installation
instructions. Then click Next:

If the number is invalid, you will get

this window. Click OK to return to
the previous window to make sure
the number is accurate. You may
need to contact Software Licenses
to confirm the file installation key
number.

Choose Typical as the installation

type, or Custom if you want to
specify what needs to be installed,
then click Next:

Matlab will install in a default

directory. If you want to change it,
click the Browse button to choose
the new location. Click Next:

If you choose a directory that

doesnt exist yet for Matlab, you
will get this message. Click Yes to
create the new directory:

Click on the Browse button and

find the location you saved the
license.dat file to, then click Next:
(The license file will be emailed to
you with your installation
instructions.)

Confirm the installation settings,

then click Install:
Only the toolboxes that are
available through our site license
will be installed.

You will see this window as the

installation progresses:

If you get this file extension

warning, you can choose to either
associate the files with MatLab or
not:

If you need additional

configuration, this window will let
you know what is needed. Click
Next:

You will see this window once the

installation is complete. Click
Finish:

When you open MatLab, the

program should check the license
server to make sure you are
allowed to use a license for
MatLab. If you are not on the list
of users for the license server, you
will get this message. Contact
Software Licenses to make sure you
have been added to the server list.
You should also make sure that the
user name you used to log onto the
computer running MatLab is the
same one you provided to Software
Licenses when you requested
MatLab.
