THE POWER OF FOCUS

Nikolas Nik Wallenda (born January 24, 1979) is an

American acrobat, aerialist, daredevil, and high wire artist.
On June 23, 2013, he became the first person to high-wire
walk across a Grand Canyon area gorge (crossing the Little
Colorado River outside Grand Canyon National Park).
For him to succeed he needs to focus. Not looking down or
being distracted but just trusting God and praising him. He
needed real concentration.
Focus is absolutely necessary to succeed in life.
If you use a magnifying glass and focus on a spot. You will
eventually create a fire!
Laser light does not require much power but yet when
focused it can cut through diamonds!
If only you have enough concentration or focus You can
do great things.
An animal trainer always carries a stool into a cage of lions,
it is their most important tool, aside from their other tools
like whips and pistols. Why? As he holds the stool by the
back and thrusts the legs toward the face of the wild animal.
Those who know maintain that the animal tries to focus on
all four legs at once. In the attempt to focus on all four, a
kind of paralysis overwhelms the animal, and it becomes
tame, weak, and disabled because its attention is
fragmented.
When playing golf You cant think of your swing when you
are aiming at the target..
Just focus on the target and your brain will work with your
body naturally to hit the target
Your brain will always move your whole life to the last
thing you have thought or placed your mind upon.
Hence we should always think positive thoughts and read
the bible before we go to sleep! So do not go to bed angry!
26 Be angry, and do not sin:do not let the sun go down on
your wrath Eph 4:26
51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to
be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to

Jerusalem, 52 and sent messengers before His face. And as

they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to
prepare for Him. 53 But they did not receive Him, because

Why didnt Jesus heal the rest but only one person at the
pool? Not because he didnt have enough power or he didnt
care.
It was just because it was not in his assignment that
day. He had to be focused on the task.
Similarly we need to stay focused to do whatever God wants
us to do in the different seasons of our life.
4 Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had
heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than
John 2 (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His
disciples), 3 He left Judea and departed again to Galilee.

We got to be secure and focused on 3 areas:
#1 Self-Image : How we see ourselves
You will be like how you see yourself everyday. Just as a man
things, so is he.
You got to have a healthy self image.Not overly arrogant and
narcissistic, but yet also not overly humble and pessimistic.
There should be a balance!
Num 13:33 they were already defeated by the way they saw
themselves As grasshoppers.
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of
God He created him; male and female He created them.
Gen 1:27
#2 Self-Worth : How we value ourselves
Your self worth is more important than your net worth.
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us,
who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own
Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with
Him also freely give us all things? Rom 8:31-32

#3 Self-Esteem : How we feel about ourselves

You can have a lot of money but if you feel lousy about
yourself, you wont be happy in your life!
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Eat and drink! he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
Prov 23:7 In his heart Not mind!
Because we mostly make decisions based on feelings,
not logic!
We got to ensure that the way we feel in our hearts is in line
with God!
17 For if by the one mans offense death reigned through
the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace
and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the
One, Jesus Christ.) Rom 5:17
3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on
us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the
world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1 Jn
3:1
The end target is to fulfil the calling that God has for
our lives! Be focused!
The narrower the spout of the water hose, the further the water will
go. The sharper the knife, the cleaner it will cut. In conclusion, focus is
powerful!
Steve jobs
In 1996, reduced Apples product line from 350 to 10 items.
His focus was to build products that are high in quality, simple to use, but
most importantly, it has to serve people.
When you serve people, you will always go to the top.
There were many mp3 players in the market but he still came up with a
device with only one wheel the first ipod, that even a kid could use.
He came up with the first touch screen phone, which was criticised. But
today almost every phone is touch screen.

Innovation or focus, is saying no to a thousand things. Go

get the God idea not the good idea.
34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is
good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is

Peter
Jn 21:17-21
20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved
following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and
said, Lord, who is the one who betrays You? 21 Peter, seeing him,
said to Jesus, But Lord, what about this man? This man He
didnt even want to call his friend of 3 years by his name.
Peter was so distracted by his rivalry!
Jesus replied, why does it matter? Why are you so distracted? Focus on the
vision and mission that God has for you.
John
2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he
sent two of his disciples Matt 11:2
16 Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves.
Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Matt 10:16
6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me. Matt 11:6
Offended gk scandalizo : trip up, stumbled or enticed to sin.
Dont get stumbled, offended, by the news, media, people.
Stay focused on what you have to do!
69 The proud have forged a lie against me,

19-21 We couldnt be more sure of what we saw and heardGods
glory, Gods voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. Youll
do well to keep focusing on it. Its the one light you have in a dark
time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in
your hearts. The main thing to keep in mind here is that no
prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private opinion. And why?
Because its not something concocted in the human
heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted
men and women to speak Gods Word. 2 Peter 1:19 MSG
Believe in the prophecies given to you!
Pray according to what God has showed you. Intelligent prayers
dont get answered, only prayers born out of the vision of
God!
John the Baptist was a great man but he was also distracted by scandalous
news!

3 Areas we need to focus on :

One Thing appears in the bible 16 to 18 times. One means singular.
Specific. One means to be separate, separated from the rest.
#1 Intercession one thing I ask
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
Psa 27:4
One thing i ask.. ASK!! Asking. Seeking. Knocking. That is what
intercession is.
6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made
clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man
with the clay. Jn 9:6
#2 Revelation one thing I know
24 They called the man back a second timethe man who had
been blindand told him, Give credit to God. We know this man is
an impostor. 25 He replied, I know nothing about that one way or
the other. But I know one thing for sure: I was blind . . . I
now see. Jn 9:24-25
One thing i know Theres so many things in life that we dont know, but we
should be like the blind man. One thing i know, its what God has done for
me, how he has changed my life.
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will
build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against
it. Matt 16:18
#3 Action one thing I do
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one
thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching
forward to those things which are ahead Philip 3:13
One thing I do..One thing you should do, keep on praying. Dont be
stumbled. keep on serving, keep on doing good.
You dont have to care what others are saying or doing. But
as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
