Internal calls using intercom buttons
1. Pickup the receiver.
2. When right arrow appears beside an extension button, then dial.
External calls using numbered line buttons
1. Pickup the reciver
2. When right arrow appears beside a numbered line button, then dial OR Press a
numbered line button without right arrow, then dial.
Dialing without lifting the handset on your M7208 Phone
The Nortel Meridian Norstar M7208 Telephone comes in Three colours
(Black, Grey and Beige). It comes with eight keys which can be programmed
as Lines, Features or External / Internal auto dials. The Meridian M7208 has
a single level LCD screen so it dose not have the three soft keys unlike the
M7310 or M7324. The M7208 is a full handsfree telephone and also comes
with two intercom keys. The M7208 is ideal for back office workers or people
thet get calls transferred to them vie the receptionist. The M7208 Phone can
be mounted on the wall by removing the back bracket then twisting it and
then reconnecting it back. You can connect a headset to it via a headset
socket underneath the telephone and in-order for you to use it you must
have handsfree programmed to it.
Here below are lists of programming codes:
EXTERNAL AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 1 (Then press the key and follow
the instructions)
INTERNAL AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 2 (Then press the key and follow the
instructions)
FEATURE AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 3 (Then press the key and follow the
instructions)

Button Inquiry on your M7208 Phone
Confirm that your memory button has the correct snap-on cap by checking
its programming
1. Rlease all calls and open lines with dial tones.
2. Press FEATURE Key followed by X then 0.
3. Read the display
4. Press FEATURE Key when finished.
Adgusting display contrast
1. Press Feature X then 7.
2. Press 1 to 9 for the level you want
Selecting a ring type and volume on your M7208 Phone
1. Press FEATURE X then 6.
2. Press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to hear the differant types of rings.
3. While the telephone is ringing press volume up or down to adjust the
volume.
4. Press FEATURE to store the ring
Adjusting recevier or telephone speaker volume
1. Press volume up or down when using the reciver or the speaker.
To Hold a call
1. Press HOLD
2. Press HOLD again to return to the call on hold. Check the display for
confermation or additional information.
Making a Calls on your M7208 Phone
Norstar system can have different types of line buttons. Match the line

1. Press line button without indicator arrow, then dial your call.
2. When answered, pickup the reciver, or press HANDSFREE/MUTE.
3. If the call is not answered, or the line is busy, press RLS.
Programming Memory Buttons on your M7208 Telephone
External Autodial
1. If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.
2. Press FEATURE X then 1.
3. Press the Key you want to program
4. Dial the external number.
5. Press HOLD to store the number
6. Label your new button.
Internal Autodial
1. If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.
2. Press FEATURE X then 2.
3. Press the Key you want to program
4. Dial the internal number.
5. Label your new button.
Features
1. If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.
2. Press FEATURE X then 3.
3. Press the Key you want to program
4. Press FEATURE and the feature code.
5. Label your new button.
Erasing memory buttons
1. If your on a call or an open line with dial tone , press HOLD or RLS>
2. Press FEATURE X then 1.
3. Press HOLD to erase the button.
Changing the TIME and DATE on a Modular or Compact Telephone System
1. Place the programming overlay on any M7208, M7310 or M7324
2. Press FEATURE * * A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display reads Password
3. Enter the Admin password, the default is A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display
reads 1. Sys speed dial
4. Press NEXT until the display reads 3. Time and date
5. Press SHOW, the display reads Time
6. Press CHANGE, the display reads Hour:
7. Press CHANGE
8. Enter the hour in two-digit format for the 12 or 24 hour clocks
9. Press NEXT the display reads Minutes
10. Press CHANGE
11. Enter the minutes
12. Press NEXT
13. If you have entered an hour less than 12, the display reads AM or PM. If not,
skip to step 15.
14. Press CHANGE to toggle between AM and PM
15. Press RLS to exit
Changing the TIME and DATE on a Modular or Compact Plus software
Telephone System
1. Press FEATURE X X 8463 (TIME) then 23646.
2. Press NEXT or CHANGE depending on what you require.
3. Press Rls once you have finished
