Outcome: A predictive model was developed in SPSS/SAS whereby propensity for a

debtor to default can be predicted based on clients fundamentals with an accuracy level
of 80%. Further based on the default propensity the clients were rated. The model has
been successfully deployed & presently in service at Tata Steels regional finance office,
Mumbai.The model assists the credit team to decide the credit limit of a customer.
