Committed to People.
Committed to the Future. To
These words express Toshiba Groups mission and convey the values we share,
they emphasize our respect for people, value creation and contributions to society.
Since Toshibas establishment in 1875, these values have inspired us to fulfill
our corporate social responsibilities in all we do, to help to create a higher quality of
life for all people, and to ensure the progress continues within the world community.
We face many challenges today, but our commitment remains unchanged, and
we continue to take determined steps into the future.
1. Commitment to People
We endeavor to serve the needs of all people, especially our customers, shareholders, and employees,
by implementing forward-looking corporate strategies while carrying out responsible and responsive
business activities. As good corporate citizens, we actively contribute to further the goals of society.

CSR
CSR Management
Toshiba Groups CSR
CSR management means giving top priority to human
life, safety, and legal compliance and contributing to
the solution of problems in the global society through
business. In order to meet their expectations, we need
to communicate with various stakeholdersincluding
customers, shareholders and investors, suppliers and
employeesas we promote CSR activities. Such
activities must be supported by each and every one of
Toshiba Groups 200,000 employees worldwide.
In 2004 Toshiba became a signatory to the United
Nations Global Compact, which defines universal
principles covering human rights, labor standards, the
environment, and anti-corruption. We are working to
fulfill our role as a leading global enterprise in all
these areas.

Continuing to Support Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake
We continue to support the reconstruction of the Tohoku
region from the perspectives of human development,
manufacturing (industrial development), and community
development, toward helping the region and the people hit
by the disaster to recover as soon as possible. In addition, we
continue to cooperate in and support the stable maintenance
and decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear
Power Station. Toshiba has been providing university
scholarships to selected students in the Tohoku region since
fiscal 2011. With employee-organized fundraising and labor
union activities taking the lead, we continue to dispatch
volunteers to the quake-hit region. In addition, specialty
goods from the affected areas are on sale at shops in Toshiba
HQ and our factories, and local foods are used in canteen
meals. Since FY2012, as part of their initial training, new
employees of Toshiba and other Group companies assist
with shipping seaweed from Tohoku.
