A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to examine the effectiveness of

ergonomics on the productivity of cutting and stitching department of apparel units.
Before conducting the MANOVA the data were examined using SPSS to ensure all of its
underlying assumption was met.
Univariate normality was assessed with Shapiro-Wilk tests was assumed. Additionally, no
multivariate outliers were found in the data, supporting the assumption of multivariate
normality. Correlation between depend quantity were low indicating that multi-co linearity
was not of concern. The relationship that did exist between the dependent variable was
roughly linear. Finally box's M was non-significant at alph =0.001 indicating that
homogeneity of variance covariance metrics could be assumed.
As all the underlying assumptions were supported by the data, a MANOVA was conducted.
Findings showed that there was a significant effect of ergonomics on the productivity.
