AND OBJECTIVES
A IMS
The course main objective is to enable students to create realistic 3-D models using computers. The
course syllabus aims to achieve the objective by focusing on the following:
Developing a basic understanding of how 3-D objects are represented in Computer Graphics.
Developing understanding of curves and surfaces used in computer graphics like Bezier
Hermite etc. along with their mathematics.
Understanding some discrete techniques used in computer graphics. The selection is left up
to the course instructor(s) following are some recommendation:o Mapping (texture, bump)
o Radiousity
o Clipping Algorithms
Mastering at least one computer graphics tool set to apply the above skill set in turn to
render near to realistic 3-D graphics. Graphics tool sets includes but are not limiting to:o OpenGL (freeglut & glew variants)
o Direct X
o WebGL

The course has two components called theory and Project. The theory component comprises of
in class lectures and tries to build on student knowledge and understanding of computer graphics.
The Project component works on developing the understanding and knowledge (acquired in
theory) in to a skill and mastering it. The Project component is to complement the theory and must
be designed to go with the flow of in-class lectures. At least one graphic tool-set must be taught
in-class and support provided to students, however, the final choice is left with students.
The following table shows the sections for each component.
