OFFICIALRULES
TheANSYSHallofFameCompetition(thePromotion)beginsat12:01p.m.EDTonSeptember4,2014(the
PromotionStartDate)andendsat11:59p.m.ESTonNovember24,2014(thePromotionEndDate)(suchperiod
referredtohereinasthePromotionPeriod).ThePromotionissponsoredbyANSYS,Inc.(theSponsor).
1.HOWTOENTER:NOPURCHASENECESSARYTOENTERORCLAIMPRIZE.APURCHASEWILL
NOTINCREASEYOURCHANCESOFWINNING.ParticipantsmayenterthePromotionby(a)creatingand
submittingasimulationimageorvideousingANSYSsoftwareand(b)submittingacompletedentryformavailableat
http://ansys.com/Hall+of+Fame.Thisentrymaybesubmittedbyfollowingtheinstructionsat
http://ansys.com/Hall+of+Fame(theWebsite).
ParticipationinthePromotionisvoluntaryanddoesnotrequireyoutopurchaseanythingfromSponsor.Noillegible,
incomplete,forgedoralteredentrieswillbeaccepted.AllentriesbecomethepropertyofSponsorandwillnotbe
returned.AllentriesaresubjecttoSponsorsPrivacyPolicylocatedathttp://ansys.com/Footer/FullPrivacyStatement
andtheseOfficialRules.Individualsmaysubmitmultipleentries.
2.PRIZE:Five(5)winnerswillbeselectedtoreceiveone(1)iPadandtheirsimulationimageorvideoandthe
correspondingdescriptionwillbedisplayedontheWebsiteforthe2015calendaryear.Runnersupwillhavetheirimage
orvideo,andabriefdescriptiondisplayedontheWebsiteforthe2014calendaryear.Winnersmayberequiredto
executeliability/publicityreleasespriortoissuanceofprize.Restrictions,conditionsandlimitationsmayapply.Lost,
mutilated,orstoleniPadswillnotbereplaced.ApproximateRetailValue(ARV):$499.Winnerwillnotreceive
differencebetweenactualcostandARV.Theoddsofwinningtheprizedependonthenumberofeligibleentries
receivedduringthePromotionPeriod.Sponsorreservestherighttosubstituteprizesofequalorgreatervalue.No
othersubstitutionortransferofprizespermitted.Sponsorisresponsibleonlyforprizedelivery.
3.ELIGIBILITY:
ParticipantEligibility.Entriesareopenforacademicandcorporateparticipants.Academicparticipantsmustcurrently
beassociatedwithauniversityorcollegeasastudent,researcher,professororotheremployeeoftheinstitutionwitha
currentlicenseforsoftwarefromANSYS.Corporateentriesmustcurrentlybeassociatedwithanotforprofitorfor
profitorganization,excludinghighereducationorganizations,withacurrentlicenseforsoftwarefromANSYS.
EmployeesoftheSponsororitssubsidiariesoraffiliatesareNOTeligibletoparticipate.Byparticipatinginthe
Promotion,eachparticipantacceptstheconditionsstatedintheseOfficialRules,agreestobeboundbythedecisions
ofSponsorandwarrantsthatshe/heiseligibletoparticipateinthePromotion.Employees,independentcontractors,
officers,anddirectorsofSponsor,affiliates,subsidiaries,advertising,promotion,andfulfillmentagencies,andlegal
advisors,andtheirimmediatefamilymembersandpersonslivinginthesamehousehold,arenoteligibletoparticipate
inthePromotion.THEPROMOTIONISVOIDWHEREPROHIBITEDORRESTRICTEDBYLAWandissubjectto
applicablefederal,stateandlocallawsandregulations.
SubmissionEligibility.SubmissionsthataresubmittedinconnectionwiththePromotionwillonlybeeligibleifsuch
Submission(a)isinEnglish,(b)doesnotdisparageSponsororanyotherpersonorpartyaffiliatedwiththePromotion,
(c)issubmittedduringthePromotionPeriod,(d)consistsofanimageorvideothatdemonstrateshowyouuseANSYS
software,(e)containsonlytheoriginalcontentoftheparticipant,and(f)doesnotcontaincontentthatisunlawful,

hatefulorobscene.Sponsorreservestheright,initssolediscretion,todisqualifySubmissionswhichSponsor
determinesatanytimeinitssolejudgmentfailtomeetanyofthesecriteria.
4.USEOFCONTENT/SUBMISSIONS.Bysubmittingcontent/SubmissionstoSponsorinconnectionwiththis
Promotion,youautomaticallyrepresentandwarrantthat,ifusingANSYSsoftwarelicensedtoyouremployeror
academicinstitutiontocreatethesubmission,youhaveobtainedpermissionfromyouremployeroracademic
institutionaswellasanythirdpartyapprovalforassociatedmaterialorgeometrytousethesoftwareforthispurpose
andthatyouhavetherighttogrant,anddoherebygrant,toSponsorthepaidup,royaltyfree,perpetual,irrevocable,
sublicensable,nonexclusiverightandlicenseto(a)use,reproduce,modify,adapt,publish,translate,createderivative
worksfrom,distribute,performanddisplayanysuchcontent/Submissions(inwholeorinpart)worldwideand/orto
incorporatealloranyportionofitinotherworksinanyform,mediaortechnologynowknownorlaterdevelopedforthe
fulltermofanypatent,trademark,tradesecret,copyrightorotherproprietaryrightsofanypartythatmayexistinsuch
content/Submissionsand(b)usethecontent/Submissions,includingwithoutlimitation,therightandlicensetomake,
use,sell,offerforsale,andimportanyproductsand/orserviceswhichpracticeorembody,orareconfiguredforusein
practicing,alloranyportionofthecontent/Submissionsandtherighttopractice.UndernocircumstanceswillSponsor
berequiredtotreatanycontent/Submissionsasconfidential.Sponsorwillbeentitledtousethecontent/Submissions
foranypurposewhatsoeverwithoutcompensationtoyouoranyotherperson.TheSponsorwilledit,changeand
reformatwrittencontent.Fortheavoidanceofdoubt,Sponsorwillnotbeliabletoyouoranyotherpersonforanyideas
forSponsorsbusiness(including,withoutlimitation,productdesignsorideas)derivedfromthecontent/Submissions
andwillnotincuranyliabilityasaresultofanysimilaritiestothecontent/Submissionsthatmayappearinanyfuture
productsorservicesofSponsor.
5.SELECTIONOFWINNERS:FollowingthePromotionPeriod,apanelofqualifiedjudges,consistingof
Sponsoremployees,determinedbySponsorinitssolediscretion,willselecttwo(2)entrantsfromtheacademicentries
andthree(3)entrantsfromthecorporateentrieswiththehighestscoringSubmissionfromamongalleligible
SubmissionsreceivedbythePromotionEndDatebasedonthefollowingcriteria:
ForAcademicEntries
VisualAppeal(33.3%)
TechnicalDifficulty(33.3%)and
InnovativeUseofCAE(33.3%)
ForCommercialEntries
VisualAppeal(25%)
TechnicalDifficulty(25%)
InnovativeUseofCAE(25%)and
ImpactonBusiness(25%)
Intheeventofatiebetweentwoormoreentrants,theentrantwhoseSubmissionreceivedthehighestscoreforVisual
Appeal,asdeterminedbythequalifiedjudges,intheirsolediscretion,willbedeemedthewinneramongthetied
entrants.
Thewinnerswillbenotifiedbyemailortelephone,usingtheinformationprovidedwhentheparticipantenteredthe
Promotion,within72hoursoftheannouncementonDecember29,2014.Suchnotificationshallincludeinstructionsfor
properacceptanceoftheprizebythewinner.Intheeventawinnerdoesnotacceptaprize,awinnerisineligible,or
theprizeorprizenotificationisnotdeliverable,analternatewinnermaybeselected.Sponsorisnotresponsiblefor

andshallnotbeliableforlate,lost,misdirectedorunsuccessfuleffortstonotifyawinner.Thewinneragreesand
specificallyconsentstoSponsorsuseanddisclosureoftheirname,address,likeness,and/orprizeinformationfor
promotionalpurposesinanymediumwithoutadditionalcompensationtotheextentpermittedbylaw.
6.CONDITIONS:Sponsoranditsrespectiveagents,directors,officers,shareholders,employees,insurers,
servants,parents,subsidiaries,divisions,affiliates,predecessors,successors,representatives,advertising,promotion,
andfulfillmentagencies,andlegaladvisors(theReleasedEntities),arenotresponsiblefor,shallnotbeliablefor,and
herebydisclaimallliabilityarisingfromorrelatingto:(i)late,lost,delayed,damaged,misdirected,misaddressed,
incomplete,orunintelligibleentries(ii)telephone,electronic,hardwareorsoftwareprogram,network,Internet,
computerorothermalfunctions,failures,ordifficultiesofanykind,whetherhumanortechnical(iii)failed,incomplete,
garbled,ordelayedcomputeroremailtransmissions(iv)anyconditioncausedbyeventsbeyondthecontrolof
Sponsor(v)anyinjuries,losses,ordamagesofanykindarisinginconnectionwithorasaresultofanyprize,orany
portionthereofthatmayhavebeenawarded,oracceptance,possession,oruseofanyprize,oranyportionthereofthat
mayhavebeenawarded,orfromparticipationinthePromotionor(vi)anyprintingortypographicalerrorsinany
materialsassociatedwiththePromotion.Sponsorreservestheright,initssolediscretion,tosuspend,modifyor
cancelthePromotionshouldanyunauthorizedhumaninterventionorothercausesbeyondSponsorscontrolcorruptor
affecttheadministration,security,fairnessorproperconductofthePromotion.Intheeventthatproperadministration
ofthePromotionispreventedbysuchcausesascontemplatedabove,Sponsorwillpickthewinnersfromalleligible,
nonsuspectentriesreceivedpriortosuchaction.ByparticipatinginthePromotion,participantsandwinnersagreeto
release,dischargeandholdharmlesstheReleasedEntities,andallothersassociatedwiththedevelopmentand
executionofthePromotion,fromanyandalllosses,damages,rights,claimsandactionsofanykindarisingoutofor
relatingtothePromotion,participationinthePromotion,anyprize,oranyportionthereofthatmayhavebeenawarded,
and/oracceptance,possession,useormisuseofanyprize,oranyportionthereofthatmayhavebeenawarded,
includingbutnotlimitedtostatutoryandcommonlawclaimsformisappropriationorparticipantsrightofpublicityor
rightofprivacy.ThisPromotionshallbegovernedbyPennsylvanialaw.ByparticipatinginthisPromotion,
participantsagreethatPennsylvaniacourtsshallhavejurisdictionoveranydisputeorlitigationarisingfromorrelating
tothisPromotionandthatvenueshallbeonlyinthestateorfederalcourtshavingjurisdictionoverWashingtonCounty,
Pennsylvania.
7.WINNERSLIST:Theimageorvideo,informationaboutsimulation,andorganizationnameofthePromotions
winnersandacopyoftheseOfficialRuleswillbeavailableonlineattheWebsiteonthroughoutthecompetition,
leadinguptothefollowingyear'scompetition.
