Explain how your planned activities will contribute to your development in

the following areas.

Creativity (the arts and other experiences that involve creative

thinking)
Being elected National Junior Representative of Ecuador allows me to
apply myself more in the Jb. This includes creating, directing and taking
part of several community service activities. The same case applies for my
new role as member of the CISV directive board, but it differs in that my
role in this board is to train the Junior Chancellors of this years so they
meet the standards required to travel. Apart from this during my
Portuguese classes Ill be assigned to write essays in Portuguese and do
more presentations which fall under the category of creativity

Action (Physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle)

Under action I will be attending 3 times to the gym on Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Saturdays morning. Each time I go to the gym my ideal
time is two hours and no less than 1 hour and a half. Also, on Wednesday
and Thrusday I will assist to the school soccer lesson which last
aproximatly and hour.

Service (an unpaid and voluntary exchange that has a learning

benefit)
In the Junior Branch most of the activities involve creating and doing
community service projects. Through this I will be able to assist my
community more than before.

Will any of the activities be new for you (one you have not done before)?
If so, explain what challenges you might face.
The activities I will do are not new in the sense I have been a part of them

for some time now. However, the new challenges they pose are all very
new to me. For instance, last year I was a member of the JB directive
Board but this year I was elected as NJR which although is in the same
field involves several different challenges such as creating a new Directive
Board, Planning more activities, and doing the ANDINOS meeting which
this year will happen in Ecuador. Also my new role in CISV is new to me
because no I am no longer being trained and now I am imparting my
knowledge onto the new participants. I will have to arrange seminars and
meetings to make sure all participants manage to complete the
requirements to travel abroad. Finally, in the other activities I will
challenge myself to improve the performance I have in all of the activities,
which will be a new challenge of its own.

Do you foresee yourself being in a leadership role in any of the activities?

If so, explain in what way.
As explained above my new role as NJR and in the Board of CISV puts me
in a new type of leadership position. This year I will do my best in both of
these positions so that in one years time I can be elected to be a part of
the Americas Junior Branch Team( conformed of 4 people) and if possible
in CISV to be able to direct leaders workshops which involve more serious
topics which I enjoy.

Identify any areas of strength or areas for growth, in relation to the activities
listed.

What new skills do you plan to acquire while undertaking each activity?
New Skills or Increased Expertise
Through my role in both boards I hope to increase my organization to
handle all the work and working with so many people I will also improve
my pacience and people skills. Through Portuguese I will improve my
Portuguese writing and speaking skills. Finally, through futbol and the
Gym I will look to improve my physic

Will you be involved in initiating or planning any aspect of these activities? If

yes, explain in what way.
Being a NJR and CISV directive Board member I will be involved in the
planning of many activities.

Will you be working in collaboration with others? If yes, please explain.

As explained above, this new roles include having to work with several
people not only from the directive board but also from other countries due
to the more international role that being a NJR is.

During this activity will you encounter any issues of global importance?
Please
Explain.
As a NJR I will be in charge of planning and organizing the Andinos
meeting. This meeting holds from 30 to 60 participants from Ecuador, Peru
and Colombia (all members of the Junior Branch on their respective
country). This meeting is happening in Ecuador and the topic for this year
is conflict and resolution. During the meeting I plan to create activities of
global importance and for that I will be gathering information of events
happening amongst our countries. This knowledge will also help me to
create activities dealing with issues of global significance in my local Junior
Branch.
