Motivation is a power existing inside an individual that causes the individual to act and
do. Students need motivation because it can provide energy to achieve optimal result in
learning. Students' learning motivation can be influenced by the student's own learning
environments such as the family and school environment as well as the role of the social
competence of teachers that have great contribution to the learning process of the students.
The problem in this study is whether there is any influence of the teachers social
competence, family environment and school environment towards the students motivation in
the subject basic competence of performing administrative procedure in the case of XI grade
students of SMK Palebon Semarang.
The population in this study was all of the students of XI graders of Office
Administration Program of SMK Palebon Semarang, amount 128 students and the samples
taken amount 97 students which are derived from Slovin formula with an error level of 5%.
The variables of this study consist of independent variables, namely teachers social
competence (X1), family environment (X2), and the school environment (X3) and motivation
(Y). Data collection method used was questionnaires and documentation. The method of data
analysis used in this study was the percentage of descriptive analysis, bifilar linear regression
analysis, analysis of classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing analysis with SPSS. The
results obtained by bifilar linear regression analysis is equation Y = 6.242 + 0.255 X1 + 0.266
X2 + 0.412 X3. The significance test of the regression equation with F test, obtained 55.346
with a significance of F = 0.000 and less than 0.05. The amount of influence simultaneously
from the teachers social competence, family environment, and school environment towards
the learning motivation of the subject basic competence of performing administrative
procedure that is amount 64.1%. While the effect of partially or individually for the teachers
social competenc amount 13.91%, the family environment amount 5.15%, and the school
environment amount 13.39%.
The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the teachers social
competence, family environment, and the school environment partially or simultaneously
towards the students motivation in the subject basic competence of performing
administrative procedure in the case of XI grade students of SMK Palebon Semarang. The
suggestion for this study is that the parents and school teachers are expected to be able to give
encouragement and motivation to the students by providing complete facilities for learning
and the comfortable and harmonious family condition so that the students have high learning
motivation.
