Plant PAx Integration
Plant PAx leverages DLR between all IO devices
Accomplished with the CENTERLINE MCC with a 1783-ETAP at the uplink of the MCC
All wiring in the MCC remains the same.

Corporate IT integration
IT Professionals may desire additional access to control and maintain optimal
bandwidth on the corporate network
A Stratix 8000 at the uplink to the MCC may be used
Or, for more advanced control throughout the MCC, the customer may select the
Stratix 8000 throughout the MCC. This will increase the size of the lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will the E3+ Plus Overload Relay connect to the EtherNet/IP network?
We are developing the 2100-ENET, an EtherNet/IP adapter for the E3+ Overload relay. This
product will be about the size of the DSA and will be powered by the same 24V DC supply that
powers the Stratix 6000 switches.

Where is the Stratix 6000 located in this design?

The switch will be located in the horizontal wireway. The upper wireway is the preferred
location, but it can be relocated based on the needs of the application.

How do I accomplish the Distributed I/O functionality that the DSA provided for
DeviceNet?
Point I/O is available to provide this functionality in the EtherNet/IP enabled MCCs.

Can I retrofit my existing installation to EtherNet/IP?

Field retrofitting an integrated network solution like IntelliCENTER can be done, but it is very
difficult. Please consult the factory for more details.

34

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Stratix 8000 switch rather than the Stratix 6000?
Yes. Although this solution requires us to mount the switch in a 1.0SF bucket rather than in the
horizontal wireway. This consumes available user space and may not be desirable for the
customer. Please make sure that the customer requires the additional functionality of the
Stratix 8000 and can accept the loss of bucket space.

Do I need a new version of IntelliCENTER software in order to see my EtherNet/IP

MCC?
Yes. EtherNet/IP compatibility was added to V3 of the IntelliCENTER software. If a customer
adds an EtherNet/IP section to their existing lineup, they will need to purchase V3 of the
IntelliCENTER software.

Can I add an EtherNet/IP section to a currently installed DeviceNet IntelliCENTER

lineup?
Yes. IntelliCENTER V3 software will recognize all sections of a lineup regardless of whether
they are DeviceNet or EtherNet/IP networks.

35

Frequently Asked Questions

Will EtherNet/IP be more sensitive to electrical noise than other industrial
networks?
No. EtherNet/IP components from Rockwell Automation have been tested to the highest levels
of Electromagnetic Compatibility. These products have also demonstrated robustness in the
field for over 10 years. In addition, the EtherNet/IP network in the CENTERLINE MCC has
been tested for the same levels of noise immunity with no issues. For more detailed
information, please see our technical documentation located at the Extranet launch site here.

Where will these products be built?

CENTERLINE MCCs with EtherNet/IP IntelliCENTER Technology will be built in either
Richland Center or Tecate.

What is the lead-time of this product?

Delivery is based on the standard lead-time for Engineered MCCs.

When is this product available for sale?

We will begin taking orders on April 1, 2011, with delivery planned for July 1, 2011.
EXCEPT for orders that contain E3+ Overload relays. Orders with the E3+ adapter will be
taken on July 1, 2011, with delivery planned for September 1, 2011.
