ATC1630

Flux cord MIG/MAG wire for welding for

joining and building up dissimilar steels
including austenitic manganese steel.
Some Significant Features.
WELCO ATC1630 deposits are dense and strong, up to 700
N/mm, resisting extreme impact.
WELCO ATC1630 is made for building up and joining
dissimilar steels and hard-to-weld steels including austenitic
manganese steels.
WELCO ATC1630 performs a dense, crack free deposit,
extremely suitable for resisting wear of heavy impact.
WELCO ATC1630 is also suitable for joining austenitic
manganese and stainless steels to most other steels.
WELCO ATC1630 can be used either as hardfacing itself,
resisting impact and/or buffering layer before hardfacing.
WELCO ATC1630 has a smooth arc. Gives no spatter.
WELCO ATC1630 has a deposition rate of over 80% of the

General applications.
WELCO ATC1630 is a special alloy performing a
none cracking, wear resistant, and dense deposit
suitable for joining and building up dissimilar steels.
WELCO ATC1630 is especially suitable for building
up and joining high tensile strength steels including
non magnetic manganese steels. WELCO ATC1630
is also highly recommended as buffer layer before
hardfacing, giving the hardfacing layer an extended
service time, especially if the wear includes heavy
impact. WELCO ATC1630 is also suitable as
hardfacing layer itself, resisting heavy impact. Will
work hardens by use up to 45 HRC

Qualities.
WELCO ATC1630 is easy to weld and offers
excellent build up properties. WELCO ATC1630 has
a high deposition rate of 85% of the weight of the
wire, performs a bead that works hardens, has
excellent none corrosive features and stands
elevated temperatures up to 850C. WELCO
ATC1630 is excellent for building up and joining
austenitic manganese steels.

Specifications.
DIN 8555 / MF8 GF 200
Werkstoff- Nr. / 1.4370

Method of Usage.
Remove any defective metal. Thick parts to be prepared with a V-, X-, or Ugrooves. For thick pieces of high carbon and high alloy steels we
recommend preheating of 300C. Austenitic manganese steel has to be
kept below 250C by using water as cooling element. A short arc at an
angle of 45 is recommended.
