BF Stoppage due to sudden failure of Cooling system

Steps to be taken during the supply from emergency water tank is going on
(45mins)
1. To inform GCP and blower operator about the emergency stoppage
2. To reduce top pr. by operating throttle valves
3. To open snort valve slowly to reduce the blast pr. to 0.3-0.5 atm
4. To observe the tuyere condn. while reducing the blast
5. To open the F/c bleeder
6. To close steam for blast moistening
7. To stop charging the F/c keeping both P.W bins full if possible
8. To remove stoves from heating
9. To supply steam or N2 for F/c dome & D.C
10.To ensure N2 supply for cooling P.W gearbox
11.To close protective valve & mixer valve
12.To close D.C cut off valve after ensuring that C.O gas is injected into intershop
B.F gas main at C.O gas boosting station
13.To reduce blast Pr. upto 0.1 atm
14.To stop air for cooling of H.B main compensator
15.To close C.B valve and H.B valve of stove on blast
16.Arrange for tapping of the F/c if water supply to hearth and tap hole cooling is
available
17.After water supply is restored the F/c can be started after checking of the
entire cooling members of th F/c. Incase they are damaged they are to be
replaced before starting the F/c

It is prohibited to take F/c on B.D

H.B valve and burner cut off valve should be by evaporative cooling system
Stoves chimney valves may not be cooled
While reducing blast it should be ensured that blast pr. is 0.5 atm less than
water pr.

Sudden failure of Blast supply- Blower failure

1. To reduce the pr. at the top by opening the throttle assembly at the F/c
bleeder
2. To stop steam for blast humidi.
3. To stop charging of the F/c
4. To close the mixer and Proctective valve
5. To close the D.C Cut off valve
6. To open steam to dome and D.C
7. To close the air valve for compensator cooling
8. To close the C.B and H.B valve of stove on blast
9. To open snort valve
10.To ventilate the stoves for one/two min by combustion air
11.To open peep holes/flanges of tuyere stock
12.To open tapping
Emergency BF stoppage in case of Power failure
1. Switch off the automode of valve mechanism and operate manually

2. One of the throttle valve should be opened manually. Read the pr. on
pr.gauges
3. When there is no power supply to the charging system, reduce the blast and
maintain the temp. of gear box at 70 C
4. Operate the snort manually (GET) guided by pr.gauges at M/G ctrl panels
5. D.C cut off valve bleeder can be used for stopping f/c instead of f/c bleeder
6. To close D.C cut off valve after ensuring that C.O gas is injected into intershop
B.F gas main at C.O gas boosting station and Bf gas mixing station by EMD
personnel
7. The hyd valves on charging eqpt and on stoves can be operated based on N2
accumalator
8. Steam or N2 should be supported to the dome of the f/c and D.C
9. Dome spraying(water) unit can be opened in case of extreme emergency
10.When the power supply to the C.H eqpt fails while tapping, demand extra
ladles and help to remove the metal loads out of f/c
