LOVE IN ANY LANGUAGE

When I was in college I sang in a traveling group called, “The Ambassadors.” We would travel each
weekend to different cities around the country and perform at churches, and while we were there
we would talk about Phillips University. We were “Ambassadors” for the school.
One of the songs that we regularly sang was titled, “Love In Any Language.” The chorus
says… “Love in any language, straight from the heart. Pulls us all together, never apart. And once
we learn to speak it, all the world will hear. Love in any language, fluently spoken here.”
Through my experiences in this singing group, and through the words of this song, it occurred to me that we
were more than ambassadors for Phillips University, but we were ambassadors for Christ. And as ambassadors, we were
called to speak a language of love in all that we do – a language that could be heard regardless of our native tongue - a
language that could be heard even without speaking.
You are also called to be an Ambassador for Christ! And you, me, and all who believe in God and follow Jesus
Christ are called to speak a language of love in all that we do and to all that we meet. We speak love through words, we
speak love through actions, we speak love through compassion, and we speak love through justice – just to name a few.
Are you speaking the language of love? Are you being an Ambassador for Christ? Is your life pulling others
together or apart? Let your life speak so all the world will hear, love in any language, fluently spoken here!
