early as 7 oclock and swung into action within minutes.
They were divided into groups and briefed on what to do by
their teachers. They were then sent to different locations within the
school premises with one aim to rid their school compound of

gotong-royong also helped enhance
respect and teamwork among students
of different races.

Datuk Hasim Rusdi, who

launched the event, commended
the students and their parents for
sacrificing their day off for the clean-up.

It is good to see the parents, teachers and students taking part

in the activity. This effort should truly be praised, he said.
He also said such activities also helped strengthen the spirit of
camaraderie among the students and their sense of belonging to the
school.
You must love your school because it is here that you learn
most things in life. You owe this much to your school, he said.
He also advised parents to inculcate the importance of
gotong-royong in their children to ensure they knew the importance of
such activities.
Your children will automatically take the initiative to clean up
their surroundings if they participate in such activities often. When this
happens, we will surely see a decline in diseases such as dengue, he
said.
