OnesinglecharacterinitialisallowedinmiddlenamefieldinPANapplicationforindividualcategory.
(Pleasenotethatnameinproofofidentityandproofofaddressshouldexactlymatchwiththenamein
application).
ForNewPANapplications,incaseofIndividualandHUFapplicantsifAddressforCommunicationisselectedas
Office,thenProofofOfficeAddressalongwithProofofresidentialaddressistobesubmittedtoNSDLw.e.f.
applicationsmadeonandafter1stNovember2009.
AsperRBIguidelines,theentitiesmakingecommercetransactionsarerequiredtoprovidePIN(Personal
IdentificationNumber)whileexecutinganonlinetransaction.Accordingly,beforemakingpaymentforonline
PAN/TANapplicationsusingcreditcard/debitcard/netbanking,pleaseensurethatthePINisobtainedfrom
yourrespectiveBanks.
NewPAN:

ThisformshouldbeusedwhentheapplicanthasneverappliedforaPANordoesnothavePANallottedtohim.
AnapplicantcanvisitIncomeTaxDepartment(ITD)websitetofindwhetheraPANhasbeenallottedtohimor
not.

ThisapplicationshouldbeusedwhenPANhasalreadybeenallottedtotheapplicantbutapplicantrequiresa
PANcard.AnewPANcardbearingthesamePANisissuedtoapplicant.
Whilefillingthisform,applicantshouldnotselectanyofthecheckboxesontheleftmarginoftheform.However,
thecheckboxforItemno.7.Addressforcommunicationwillbeselectedbydefaultasthisaddresswillbe
updatedintherecordsofITD.
TransactionStatusInquiry:

ThisfacilitycanbeusedifyouhavemadethepaymentfortheonlineapplicationthroughCreditCard/DebitCard
/NetBanking.Usingthisfeature,youcan:
a. trackthestatusofyourapplicationbymentioningtransactionnumberwhichisdisplayedonscreenatthe
timeofapplication.
b. changethemodeofpaymenttoChequeorDemandDraft,ifthepaymentthroughcreditcard/debitcard/
netbankinghasbeenunsuccessful.
c. regenerate&printtheacknowledgementreceiptwithin30daysofthedateofonlineapplication.
ChangesorCorrectioninPANdetails:

ThisapplicationshouldbeusedwhenPANhasalreadybeenallottedtotheapplicant,butwhendataassociated
withthePAN(e.g.nameofapplicant/father'sname/dateofbirth/address)isrequiredtobeupdatedinrecords
ofITD.AnewPANcardbearingthesamePANbutupdatedinformationisissuedtoapplicant.
Whilefillingthisform,applicantshouldselecttherelevantcheckboxontheleftmarginoftheform.Thecheck
boxforItemno.7.Addressforcommunicationwillbeselectedbydefaultasthisaddresswillbeupdatedinthe
recordsofITD.
ItisrequiredthatanychangeintheinformationprovidedtoITDatthetimeofmakingapplicationforallotmentof
PAN,shouldbeintimatedtoITDbywayoffilingthisform.

YoucantrackthestatusofyourapplicationfornewPAN/reprintofPANcard/ChangesorCorrectioninPAN
detailsusingthe15digituniqueAcknowledgmentNumberafterthreedaysofapplicationusingthisfacility.
