NOTE: This manual is an integral part of the CO2 extinguisher package and
MUST be read before operating the unit. This manual must be kept and

HEALTH AND SAFETY

This equipment has been designed to withstand normal operating conditions and
pressures, and poses no serious risk to health and safety when properly maintained
and used by trained personnel.
1. Do not use the extinguisher if the body cylinder becomes damaged. If the
protective paint coating is damaged obtain a touch up kit from Angus Fire.
Before applying touch up paint insure that the surface is free from rust and
grease.
2. Keep the extinguisher away from areas where it will be subjected to extremes
in temperature. The safe working temperature range for mobiles is -300C to
+600C.
3. Be aware that when operating the extinguisher the user will experience a jet
reaction force. Do not operate on ladders, gantries or similar places where this
could cause overbalancing.
4. Only genuine spare parts obtained from Angus Fire should be used.
5. Familiarise relevant persons with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for
the extinguishing agent. MSDS are available on the Angus Fire website.
6. When refilling the extinguisher ensure that the correct weight of agent is
placed inside the extinguisher.
7. After use the extinguisher must be refilled by an authorised refilling station.
8. Suitable for use on electrical equipment with voltages up to 1000V at a
distance of 1m.

APPROVALS
All extinguisher cylinders are manufactured according to the PED 97/23/EC directive
and marked CE. Further to this the extinguishers detailed in this manual have been
approved and tested against EN1866 - 10kg class 144B, 20kg class 233B, 30kg
class 233B, 50kg class 233B.
The extinguishers detailed in this manual are suitable for use on class B (Flammable
liquids, gasoline, oil etc.) fires.

OPERATION
The extinguishers covered by this O&M manual have a working pressure of 60 bar at
20 deg C. Only use the extinguisher for fire fighting or training purposes.
1) Run out the hose keep discharge horn in hand.
2) Remove cylinder safety pin.
3) Fully open the valve on the cylinder.
4) Take up a firm stance.
5) Squeeze the horn and aim the jet at the base of the fire and distribute the
extinguishing agent in a sweeping motion.
The operating instructions above are also detailed on the extinguisher label.

SERVICING & PERIODIC INSPECTIONS

The extinguisher should be serviced regularly. The frequency of the servicing
depends upon the usage and storage conditions.
In outdoor and corrosive
environments, regular servicing of the external areas of the extinguisher should be
carried out every 2 3 months to ensure trouble free operation. In all cases the
extinguisher should be maintained annually as a minimum.
12 years after the manufacture of the mobile body it should be recertified to PED
97/23EC. This involves a hydrostatic pressure test which must be carried out by an
authorised pressure test house.
If, during maintenance or operation, metal is removed from the cylinder, for example if
it is shot blasted before re-painting, or if it is damaged in any way, the cylinder
pressure certification must be re-certified by an authorised test house.

RECHARGING AGENT AFTER COMPLETE OR PARTIAL USE

The cylinder should be refilled by a certified cylinder filling company. Fill weights are
