Rhyl Corps Mission Statement

We will help people to know Jesus as a friend
and Saviour; reaching out to meet their
spiritual and practical needs

Last Weekend at Rhyl Corps

Give me Lord

We had a very busy few days at the hall last weekend.

Give me a good digestion Lord

And also something to digest.
But when and how that something comes,
I leave to thee who knowest best.

On Saturday we had the privilege of sharing in the very

happy occasion of Joseph Hill and Michelle Flynns
wedding. It was lovely to see the hall being used for such
a joyous event and we pray Gods blessing on Joe and
Michelle for their future together.

Give me a healthy body Lord,

Give me the sense to keep it so.
Also a heart that is not bored,
Whatever work I have to do.
Give me a healthy mind good Lord,
That finds the good that dodges sight,
And seeing sin is not appalled
But seeks a way to put it right.
Give me a point of view good Lord,
Let me know what it is and why.
Dont let me worry overmuch
About the thing thats known as I.
Give me a sense of humour Lord,
Give me the power to see a joke,
To get some happiness from life
And pass it on to other folk.

On Sunday we were delighted to see Alex Dutton

welcomed officially into our church family as an adherent
member. We praise God for the journey which Alex has
taken over these last months since becoming a Christian
and pray that God will continue to bless and use him in
the coming days.

Thanks to Margaret Southworth for sharing this poem with us,

which was written by a very young Thomas Harry Webb at
Winchester. He was the only son of Lt.Col Sir Henry Webb of
Caerlon-Mon and was killed at the tender age of 19 in 1917.

This is me
1.

My favourite Bible verse is John 3:16 For God so loved the

world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life. It seems to say so
much in just a few words.

2.

My favourite food is assiette de fruits de mer. (seafood platter)

3.

Prior to retirement I was a management accountant.

4.

My favourite TV programme is University Challenge.

5.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, listening to music, teaching

French and wasting hours playing freecell on the computer.

6.

My favourite colour is silvery blue.

7.

My most recent holiday destination was France (is there

anywhere else!)

8.

3 blessings : a wonderful family, wonderful friends and a

wonderful place to live in.

9.

Educated by nuns in hospital, then not much church contact

except cubs and scouts. Then I followed the Unitarianism
movement (and a girl!) until finally (Praise theLord) my wife
took me to the Salvation Army - Hallelujah!

10. What prayer would be that future generations could enjoy some
of the blessings that we have enjoyed.
(In the April edition of the Seasider This is me was..
Bandmaster Fred Williams. Did you guess correctly?)
