I.

Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to explain the steps to upload and test the white label prototype on to a SumTotal
Learning Management System (LMS). The document also lists the different items to be tested and the expected
results.

II.

Steps to install the SCORM package

Please perform the following steps to upload the SCORM package on to the LMS:
1. From the Learn menu, select Upload.
2. Click Upload.
3. Click Browse to locate the .zip file that contains the online course.
4. Select the file and click Open.
5. Click OK. When the Upload Content page appears, enter the name and description.
6. Click OK.
7. Use the View list to select Succeeded.
8. In the Activity Name column look for the .zip file you uploaded. If you do not see the file you uploaded, refresh
the page it may take time to complete the upload process.
9. Click the name of your uploaded file in the Activity Name column to view this activity in the Staging pane.
10. Click the Switch to advanced view link.
11. From the Properties pane, open the Properties category and select Grading and Completion. Ensure that you
select the No registration required property.
12. In the Minimum percent field, enter the appropriate number as the passing score for this course. You are now
ready to make this activity available to the intended user group.
13. Click the Ready for Production link at the bottom of the Staging pane.
14. Under the Validation Results heading you will see a message that this activity cannot be copied. This
informative message does not require any action on your part, so you can continue.
15. Click Move to Production.
Please note: The above listed steps are for uploading SCORM packages on SumTotal LMS. These steps may vary
depending on the LMS.

Next/ Previous button functionality (restricted wherever necessary till completion of user interaction)
Glossary button to display common abbreviations (top menu)
Help button to display information on how to use the various navigation elements of the course (top menu)
Menu to quickly access a certain section/page of the course (top menu)
Exit button to exit from the course (top menu)
Built-in page-level bookmarking to facilitate return to the last viewed page on returning to the course after
course exit
External resource link on first page will open in a new window
Video playback on the second page
Click and learn interaction on the third and fourth pages
Non-interactive animation on the fifth page
Animation and interaction on the sixth page
Three knowledge check questions to check the understanding of topics learned
Five course assessment questions that require the learners to score 80% to mark course completion

Please note: Clicking the back button from any of the course assessment questions will take the users to the
beginning of the course assessment. The progress made till then will be reset.

IV. Testing and expected results


The following lists the different items to be tested and the expected results.
1. Navigation buttons are working properly:
The navigation buttons should work at the end of animations/on completion of user interaction.
2. Graphical User Interface (GUI) buttons are functioning properly:
All GUI buttons should work in every page except on the course assessment pages. On the course assessment
pages, the users will not be able to click on Menu or Glossary to view/get help on answering the assessment
questions.
3. The external resource link opens the embedded PDF:
The external resource link on the first page should open the content on a separate window.
4. The video is playing properly:
The video on the second page should play when the user clicks the on-screen play button. They should also be
able to control the video using the seekbar at the bottom of the video.
5. User interactions are working as directed:
The user interactions, such as tabs/buttons/knowledge check and assessment questions should work as
instructed by the red text on each page.
6. The course bookmarking functions properly:
If a user goes to any page and clicks the Exit button, the course will close and return to the LMS page. Upon
revisiting the course, the user should be prompted to resume from the page that was last visited.
7. The course marks scoring and completion properly:
When a user scores less than 80% in the course assessment, the LMS should mark the course as incomplete.
When a user scores more than 80%, the LMS will mark the course as complete and display the score.
Please note that we have tested the course on SCORM Cloud and Advance Distributed Learning (ADL) Test Suite
for compliance. Please find the supporting screenshots for the same in the appendix.
