shuntsthesignallingcircuitofthelivelineindicatorandpreventstheincidenceofhigh
voltageatthetappingpointshouldtheindicatinglamplooseninthesocketorbecome
opencircuit.
InthetypeofconstructionshownaheavilyinsulatedHVleadistakenfromthe
capacitoratthetop.Theconstructionissuchthattheleadcontributestoahigher
creepagedistancesuchthatthisrangeisusefulforcertaindistributionapplicationsas
wellasfortherequirementsofminingswitchgear.
