Statement of Work (SOW) ~ Driver Logistician

Driver Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Operates Peace Corps vehicles for official purposes in a safe and appropriate manner,
adhering to Peace Corps policies and procedures and local laws re: vehicle use at all times.
(Items 1-5 total 85%)
2. Keeps vehicle mileage log and tracks use of vehicle gas coupons/TomCards in accordance
with Peace Corps regulations.
3. Assists in maintaining vehicle for which s/he is responsible. Performs all necessary checkin and out procedures when going on site visit including safety and security measures and
packing and unpacking of vehicle.
4. Accompanies staff on field trips within Burkina Faso, sometimes staying overnight.
5. Serves as duty driver as scheduled. When functioning as duty driver will be on call
twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
6. Upon request, delivers/retrieves all Peace Corps official and personal mail including
packages between Peace Corps, the Embassy mailroom, and local post office. Delivers mail
to local Ministries, businesses and Vendors. Responsible for meeting outgoing official U.S.
pouch deadlines to assure mail is distributed and received in a timely manner. (Items 6-8 total
15%)
7. Upon request, operates reproduction and duplicating equipment including photocopying
machine and stencil machine to produce official documents. Collects material, monitor
in/outflow of equipment and material and keeps records on use of equipment; orders
material/equipment for machines as needed.
8. Performs other clerical and administrative duties, which include, but are not limited to:
filing memos and other letters pertinent to PC operations, distributing packages to PC
volunteers and maintaining accurate records of these packages, postage collections for
submission to the Administrative Officer.
Supervision and Guidance: Receives oversight from the General Services Manager (GSM)
and GSA Motor Pool Coordinator (GSA/MPC). Reports to Director of Management Office
(DMO).

Qualifications: Driver's license. At least two years driving experience. Ability to read, write
and speak French. Ability to speak English or understand English a plus, but not a
requirement.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the administrative and purchasing services at the


training site, physical property management and transportation of
personnel and materials.

DUTIES AND TASKS


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Understand and comply with all U.S. government rules and regulations referring to the
purchase of material, contractors and other goods and services.
Coordinate the purchase of supplies, materials, food and equipment.
Insure proper documentation of all purchases.
Maintain supply inventories; develop a system for distributing and collecting supplies.
Oversee the reproduction of materials and reports.
Prepare sub-vouchers for payment to vendors and repairmen.
Coordinate special events such as: field trips, Counterpart Workshops, social events,
receptions, swearing-in ceremonies, etc., as directed by the Training Manager.
Obtain estimates for materials and services as needed.
Ensure and oversee maintenance of PST office equipment (photocopier, computers,
printers, telephones, etc.).
Coordinate the proper maintenance of the training site.
Identify the need for repairs to the training site, adoptive family and staff houses, and
manage repair requests from staff members.
Make sure that accommodations are prepared for visitors and PCV trainers staying in
staff housing.
Coordinate transportation for trainees and staff, when necessary.
Supervise activities and coordinate schedules for PST chauffeurs, guardian, and cleaner.
Assist with host family communication as required.
Participate in staff Training of Trainers.
Actively participate in all PST staff meetings.
Pack and label all equipment and supplies at the end of training and provide an
accompanying inventory list.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Training Manager.
May be asked to drive Peace Corps vehicles on an as needed basis.

As part of this positions personal services contract (PSC), s/he may be required to
courier cash and/or purchase orders to various vendors who furnish supplies and/or
services to PST/IST training site, or other locations as directed by the Contracting
Officer, or designee. The PSC may also be required to courier cash to PC trainees or
volunteers. The PSC will not be functioning as a procurement or disbursing official but
will only be acting as an intermediary between the Contracting or Disbursing Officer and
the recipient. In the case of dealing with vendors, the PSC will not exercise any
procurement discretion concerning the supplies or services to be purchased or the cost
limits of these purchases; these will be determined by the Contracting Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate (university degree preferred)


Good computer skills
English skills
Experience in coordinating logistics for a large-scale project
Experience working for an NGO or international organization
