Role of the public authorities


Public authorities play an important role in supporting cluster development
(promote national platforms for information-sharing, support schemes public
funds and structural funds, attract FDI, organize economic missions abroad,
innovation tours etc)
The role is not confused with governance of clusters (see collaboration
agreements and partnerships as well as cluster management entities)
Coordination of the activity of clusters within regional projects (South East
Europe Program;
Competitiveness and Innovation Program-CIP
Framework Program 7-Regions of knowledge , INTERREG IV C; Danube
Strategy-PA 1-8, etc);
Facilitate the exchange of best practices with EU Member States
(Germany,Hungary, Austria, Poland, France, Sweden, Italy; UK, Slovenia,
Bulgaria,Spain, etc), candidate countries (Croatia, Macedonia etc); Norway,
Korea, Japan, Turkey
Organization of conferences for clusters and elaboration of a quarterly
publication- International Conference-Innovative Clusters key to success
