pinbyhandonthebackoftheboard.Nothardtodo,justtedious.
Forme,thisprocessremovedmostalloftheexistingsolder.
2.Soldera32pinsocketwheretheROMchipwent.It'seasiesttodothis
byhavingtheboardorientedvertically,asthisensuresthereareno
pinsnexttothecurrentoneyou'reworkingon.
3.TheAm29F040hasaslightlydifferentpinconfigurationthanthe
originalROM:

YoucanleaveWE#unconnected.AsforhandlingA18,Ididn'twantto
modifythePCBincaseitwouldbeusedforsomethingelselateron,
soIaddedasecondsocketoverthefirstinordertorouteA18
correctly.Here'sthedetails:
A.Usinganothersocket,removepin31(shownasanemptyspotinthe
picture)andbendpin1outwardssoit'satarightangleinrespect
totheotherpins.
B.Solderasmallbitofwirefrompin1ofthissockettopin31ofthe
*original*socket.
C.Useapieceofelectricaltapetocovertheundersideofwherepin31
wasonthenewsocket,andputapieceovertheholeforpin1ofthe
originalsocket.Thisensurestherearenoshortcircuits.
D.Finally,putthenewsocketintotheoldone.
That'sallthereistoit.IaddedaZIFsocketpluggedintothewhole
messtomakeswappingflashmemorysimplerandtoremoveanywearandtear
ontheexistingsockets.
