This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq.
Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on May 1, 2015 and May 3,
2015.
If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in
violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they
make a statement at this time.
The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video
and will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77 and Fios Channel 46.
The Hoboken Board of Education is committed to preserving the decorum of the public process
and is mindful that we live in the electronic age of computers, cell phones and other electronic
communications devices. Nevertheless, we respectfully request that all meeting participants kindly

through Board subcommittee review and recommendation. Documentation concerning these items has been
provided to all Board members and the public in advance to assure an extensive and thorough review. Items
may be removed from the consent agenda at the request of any board member.

WHEREAS, there is a need to use banked cap in the amount of $695,568 to supplement the
District budget for the purposes of maintaining the educational foundation programs and for
the continuation of the required transition to the Common Core Curriculum Standards; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Hoboken Board of Education hereby approves
the use of banked cap in accordance with N.J.A.C 6A:23A-10.3(b) to be included in the
2015/2016 District Budget.

RESOLVED that, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and the Business
Administrator, the Board of Education approves the 2015/2016 school district budget.

The budget includes sufficient funds to provide curriculum and instruction which will enable
all students to achieve the Core Curriculum Content Standards and is in compliance with
N.J.S.A. 18A and N.J.A.C Title 6 and 6A; and
BE IT RESOLVED, the Board approves a total tax levy of $ 41,004,666 to be raised for the
2015/2016 School District Budget of $ 67,991,728.
WHEREAS School district policy and N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-7.1 et seq. provides that the board of
education shall establish in the annual school budget a maximum expenditure amount that
may be allotted for such travel and expense reimbursement and the 2015/2016 budget
includes a maximum travel appropriation of $ 79,226; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the School Business Administrator shall track and record
these costs to insure that the maximum amount is not exceeded; and
WHEREAS NJAC 6A:23A-5.2(1), the proposed budget provides for a maximum expenditure
amount that is annually established for each type of professional service including public
relations, with appropriate notification to the Board of Education if it becomes necessary to
exceed the maximum; now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED upon such notification, the Board of Education may adopt a dollar increase
to the maximum amount through board action.
