FSP-301 -FORENSIC MEDICINE & TOXICOLOGY: COURSE OUTLINE :


Forensic Medicine and Toxicology is vast topic which is covered as one of the Forensic Science courses. Forensic
Medicine and Toxicology, is basically covered under two sections. First section is comprised of Forensic Medicine,
which deals with the techniques applied in medical science for the purpose of law; whereas second section deals
completely with the Toxicology, as the name suggests, Toxicology is all about the detection, isolation and the
symptoms produced by a particular poison/toxin on a living being.

-FORENSIC ACCOUNTING: COURSE OUTLINE :

Forensic Accounting cases may fall into several categories. For example:
* Economic damages calculations, whether suffered through offense or breach of contract;

* Post-acquisition disputes such as earn outs or breaches of warranties;


* Bankruptcy, indebtedness, and reorganization;
* Securities fraud;
* Business assessment;
* Computer forensics/e-discovery.

FSP-303 INSURANCE FRAUD INVESTIGATION


: COURSE OUTLINE :
Insurance fraud, may be defined as, act committed with an intent to obtain a fraudulent result from an insurance
process. This may occur when a claimant attempts to obtain some benefit to which they are not otherwise entitled,
or when an insurer knowingly denies some benefit that is due. According to the United States Federal Bureau of
Investigation the most common schemes include: Premium Diversion, Fee Churning, Asset Diversion, and Workers
Compensation Fraud. The perpetrators in these schemes can be both insurance company employees and claimants.
False insurance claims are insurance claims filed with an intent to deceive an insurance provider.

FSP-304 CRIME SCENE &FORENSIC PHOTOGRAPHY


: COURSE OUTLINE :
Crime Scene Photography, also termed as Forensic Photography is a subject of great help in aiding the criminal
investigation processes. The main objective of photographing the crime scene is to maintain the reliability of the
evidences encountered at a crime scene. Crime scene, being temporary and fragile in nature, needs to be secured
and the evidences, along with their actual positions needs to be safeguarded to maintain their authenticity in the
court-room. Therefore, photographing, videographying, note-making and proper documentation are a must
requirements while processing a scene of crime.

FORENSIC BIOMETRICS ANALYSIS


: COURSE OUTLINE :

In the subject Forensic Science, Biometrics has been used since ancient times. The first textbook on the subject was
written by Sir Francis Galton in 1892. The French policeman Bertillon developed a system of personal identification
by bodily/physical measurements. It came to be known as the Bertillon system. From about 1910, the fingerprints
became more broadly used, since it was easy to equate and stock in comparison to the Bertillon system where many
measurements had to be taken from each body part, with many possible errors.
