Your New Life in Christ ……

Foreword

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ!

Congratulations and welcome to the family of God. Now

that you have received the Lord Jesus and what you have
gone through is once in a lifetime experience. It is a spiritual
regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit of God making
you a new person in Christ. You are now a new creation, a
new man born into the God’s Kingdom.

Beautiful things usually happen at the beginning of

everything. You are embarking into a new path in your life.
You will now be walking a new walk— a walk with God every
day. This booklet will guide you how to be wise and receive
guidance from the scripture now that you have accepted the
Lord Jesus Christ and has become a member of His body the
church.

May the Lord empower you and give you all the grace
you need in knowing and obeying Him.

4
Christ has died and risen for you…..
Before the world was even created God saw you already. In the
beginning Christ was destined to die on the cross for you and me. God made
man and it was good. It was when Satan tempted Adam and Eve that they
fell into disobedience. Since then man has been sinning and disobeying God
and on due time after the Law, Christ was sent to die on the cross for us.

“For Christ also died for sins once and for all, the just for the unjust,
so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but
made alive in the spirit.”
1Peter 3:18

When Christ died on the cross He took the penalty that should be for
us. He died on our behalf; His blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins
and cleanses us. He is the Son of God who without sin, who is holy and
perfect, took the form of a man to bring eternal salvation and obtain eternal
redemption for us who believe in Him and also for the whole world. By rising
from the dead He showed to all the principalities and powers of darkness that
death cannot lay hold on Him. He has destroyed and conquered death so that
those who might believe in Him be set free and shall not die spiritually but
have everlasting life. He lives therefore you shall live also.

“Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself

likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render
powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free
those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
Hebrews
2:14-15

Who are you now in Christ …..

You are now His blessed saint.

Yes! What a blessing! When you become a child of God you were given
all the benefits due to a son from the Father an inheritance you never
thought you will ever have. You have been forgiven, given eternal life,
received by God, life hidden in Christ in God, purchased by God, owned by
God, made complete in Him, made righteous, justified, made holy, have been
raised up with Christ, have given power to live righteously, received the Holy
Spirit, you can come now to Him freely, without guilt, with joy and peace
because of Christ. You do not only will receive in the future eternal life and
glory but an abundant life now. Anytime you can call upon His Name and be
delivered, ask from Him and it shall be given. Seek guidance and you shall
receive direction through the Spirit and many more... God has accepted us in
Christ and He sees us as His children and He desire that we grow in Him,
know His perfect will and plan for our lives.

5
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you
will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of
His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His
power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of
the strength of His might.”
Ephesians 1:18-19

1. You are now saved.

Jesus said. “I came to save that which was lost.”
Matthew 18:11

Now that you have received Him as Lord and Savior, Jesus’ work on
the cross now applies to you. Your soul is saved from the penalty of
sin, from its power and dominion, from curse, from the wrath of God
and from hell. Praise the Lord you are free now in Christ through faith
in Him.

“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he
who has disbelieved shall be condemned.”
Mark 16:16

…“Behold now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of

salvation”
2 Corinthians 6:2b

2. You are now forgiven.

This is why Christ died for, so that we shall receive forgiveness
from all of our sins. Your sin was not covered but was taken out of the
way. It was a one time offering of Christ 2000 years ago on the cross
of Calvary once and for all men. It atoned all of our sins in the past,
the present and the future….

“For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember

their sins no more.”
Hebrews 8:12

“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the
world.”
John 1:29

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us

our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1John 1:9

6
3. You now have eternal life.
What is salvation without eternal life? To be saved does not only
to be forgiven but also to posses eternal life. This is the reason Christ
came to give us eternal life and this is the will and the commandment
of the Father. Eternal life is a condition you should have now and not
after death. While you are still living on earth you must have eternal
life through Christ and when you die physically you go homeward
where you were called into- heaven.

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does
not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides in Him.”
John
3:36
“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has eternal life; he who
does not have the Son of God does not have eternal life. These things
I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so
that you may know that you have eternal life.”
1John 5:11-
13

4. You have been born into His family.

Everything happened in a moment. When you heard the gospel
and you have confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and
believed from your heart that God has raised Him from the dead and
have repented from your sins you have been forgiven, saved, given
eternal life, cleansed and sealed by the Holy Spirit- and you have been
born into the family of God.

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to

become children of God, even those who believe in His Name. Who
were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of
man, but of God.” John 1:12

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

1Peter 1:3

5. You are transferred to His kingdom.

Whenever the gospel is preached the kingdom of God is at
hand. The gospel gives us the message of God about His Kingdom. We
can enter through it through the gospel. In the kingdom of God we
become priests and kings. We are saved, cleansed, redeemed and
have eternal life. The kingdom of God is now in our midst. The Holy
Spirit of God is moving in us and with us. People are healed and
saved. Demons are cast out and people are set free. Righteousness,

7
joy and peace in the Holy Spirit are experienced. Christ brought down
the kingdom of God from heaven to earth. The Father has transferred
us to the kingdom of His Son Jesus Christ.

and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at

hand; repent and believe the gospel.” MK 1:15

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and

transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,”
Col 1:13

“to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light
and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive
forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been
sanctified by faith in Me.”
Act 26:18

“Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be

shaken,…”
Heb 12:28a

What is next?…….

Fellowship
Did you know that in the past and even now many have received
Christ but some returned back to their sins while others kept on growing and
maturing in the Lord encountering and experiencing His goodness and love.
Now that you have Him and have known the truth which shall be with you
forever if you hold fast unto the end and not deny Him. Since you are His
child you should talk and walk with God every day of your life. The secret of
word is fellowship. Have a daily fellowship with God through prayer and in
Spirit and through His word, fellowship with righteousness by stopping to sin
by obeying His commandments and fellowship with His family- your new
brethren in Christ. This is a kingdom life style that you shall have until He
comes again to receive us into glory.

1. You pray everyday.

The secret of prayer is to “pray." Let us learn from our master
the right way to pray. Jesus prayed everyday, in the early morning
while it is still dark and evening alone in a solitary place. Mark 1:35,
Matthew 14:23. He talks and hears from God. It is during those times
that He receives direction and power while He is still on earth about to
finish His mission.

8
“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your
door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who
sees what is done in secret will reward you.”
Luke 6:6

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it
will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7

And He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said
to Peter, “So, you could not keep watch with Me for an hour? Keep
watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the
spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”
Matthew 26:40-41

2. You read and keep His word daily.

The word of God is powerful. It can change your life, your
thoughts, your words and your actions toward the world inside and
outside you. It speaks of the truth. It tells who you are and what we
are in His kingdom. The word of the Lord should be read daily
especially in the morning in your quiet time with the Lord. He speaks
to us not only through the Spirit but also through His word. All His
promises and commandments are written in the Bible. Read, believe
and follow it.

“This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but
you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to
do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your
way prosperous, and then you will have success.”
Joshua 1:8

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers
who delude themselves.
James 1:22

“Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk

in Him.”
Colossians 2:6

3. You do away with and stop sinning.

God has saved us from sin- from its penalty and from its
dominion in our lives. Jesus said, “if the Son makes you free you shall
be free indeed.” John 8:36. It is God’s commandment that we go and
sin no more. Sin caused death to every man but the life of Jesus

9
brings life to all men. We shall be indebted to God if we continue to
sin.

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him,

“Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing
worse happens to you.”
John 5:14

“It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will

also live with Him; If we endure with Him, we will also reign with Him.
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;”
2Timothy
2:11-12

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands,

having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone
who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."
2Timothy
2:19

“to Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His
blood."
Revelation
1:5

4. You meet Christian friends.

There is a saying: tell me who your friends are and I will tell
who you are. Another one, birds of the same feather flock together.
The word of God commands us to separate from the works of darkness
and have fellowship with the light. Now that you are a child of God try
to bring your old friends to Christ and meet new Christian friends.
Have a good relationship with your new brethren. They have received
Christ and God has placed His Spirit in them in the same manner that
you receive Him so that you may encourage each other.

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

1Corinthians
15:33

“Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us

to the glory of God.” Romans 15:7

“And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced

that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and
able also to admonish one another.
Romans
15:14

10
5. You now attend a small cell group.
There is nothing fruitful, strengthening and enlightening when
believers gather together in their houses in small groups to pray for
one another, help each other’s needs, encourage each other and study
the word of God together and worship the Lord. As a new believer in
Christ it is a big leap for your faith if you join a small group of
Christians older than you. They may help you in all your questions or
anything in time of need.

“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostle’s

teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer.”
Acts 2:42

“Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and

breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals
together with gladness and sincerity of heart.”
Acts 2:46

6. You now attend church services.

Sunday, the first day of the week is the day that our Lord Jesus
Christ has risen from the dead. We are to celebrate His resurrection
and by meeting together we remember it until His coming again. It is
during this time that as a member of the body of Christ we hear the
message from the pastor through whom God gives His messages for
His people. We worship Him corporately, glorify and lift Him up. As you
grow while attending these services, you shall know later on what is
your calling before God- your gifts and ministry.

“On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together
to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the
next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.”
Acts
20:7

“Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of

some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the
day drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:25

7. You have been added to the body of Christ.

It is the Lord who adds you to the true church the body of Christ
after you heard the only true gospel and repent from your sins and
receive Christ as Lord and Savior. God’s way of placing you into the
body is through the gospel.

11
“to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow
members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ
Jesus through the gospel,” Ephesians 3:6

“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or
Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one
Spirit.”
1Corinthians 12:13

“praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord
was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:47

HOW CAN I BE SAVED?

The Bible says, “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable
and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars,
their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is
called the second death.” Revelation 21:8

Jesus revealed Himself as the Son of God from heaven and He took
the form of a man, came down to earth to bring us the true will of His Father.

He said, “I came as the Light to the world, anyone who believes in Me

shall not remain in darkness.” John 12:46. “The Son of Man came to save
that which was lost.” Matthew 18:11 “For Christ also died for sins once and
for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been
put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.” 1Peter 3:18

“He who believes the Son has eternal life.” John 3:36. “And the
testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His
Son. He who has the Son has the life, he who does not have the Son of God
does not have the life.” 1John 5:11-12

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and

believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes,
resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he
confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says,
‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE
DISAPPOINTED.’ For there is no distinction between Jew
and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in
riches for all who call on Him; for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL
ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’"

Romans 10:9-13

12
Friend, do you want to be saved from destruction and from hell? You
need to have the Son of God. He came from heaven, suffered, died on the
cross and has risen from the dead to pay for our sins and for us to have
eternal life.

This is what you should do:

• Ask forgiveness from God for all of your sins. Mark 2:5
• Repent from all of your sins and forsake them. Luke 13:3
• Call upon the Lord Jesus in prayer and receive Him as Lord
and Savior. Romans 10:9 Colossians 2:6
• Be baptized in His Name Mt 28:19-20

Follow this prayer:

Heavenly Father, I’m coming before You. Forgive me

from all of my sins. I believe that Jesus is Lord. He died
and resurrected for our sins. Cleanse me with the blood of
Jesus. Lord Jesus, I receive You as my Lord and Savior. I
receive now eternal life and forgiveness of all my sins.
Lord fill me with Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name. Amen.

After you have prayed, remember this day is your day of

salvation and you have been born by God to His family. You are now a
child of God destined for heaven. Pray everyday and have your own
bible and read it. Look for a Christian friend and attend born again
church services.

13
