As a Higher Education Institution that is based on engineering, science and

technology, Terengganu Advanced Technical College is inspired to make innovation as a
comprehensive culture among its students and academicians. According to Prof. Dato Dr.
Daing Nasir Ibrahim in one of his speech during Innovations Day, 2011, he mentioned that
innovation should be understood within the framework of a broad interpretation which
covering all branches of science, rather than in a purely scientific context. Creativity and
innovation are closely related to the ability to produce approaches, methodologies or new
ways in various affairs. With that idea in mind, TATIUC Research and Innovation Exhibition
2015 (TARIE 2015) is instigated.
This exhibition is another brilliant initiative between TATIUC Research Management
Center and Department of Corporate Communication, Promotion and Public Relations. With
aptly themed Towards Todays Technology, this exhibition provides a platform for neoteric
development and innovation related to the current research in engineering and information
technology field. TATIUC will continuously advocate research and innovation activities
among TATIUC academician and strive to be an internationally recognised college university
in the future.

It is my pleasure to introduce two new categories in TARIE 2015 that are Junior
Inventor as well as Young Inventor. Junior Inventor is opened to secondary school
students while Young inventor is focused on higher learning institutions to show their
research and innovation products. These two new categories are created to inculcate our
young bright students creativities and inventive skills in creating avant-garde products. It is
hope that this competition can inculcate constructive and dynamic innovative skills among
our young generation.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the organisers for achieving their
objectives in promoting TATIUC and research activities at our institution. Finally, I would like
to welcome all participants to TARIE 2015, may productive knowledge interchange blooms.

Education is the heart of development of any society. It nurtures and mentors the
young generation to achieve excellence in the quest for the meaning of true education.
Successful education produces individuals who can improve the quality of life to make
positive contributions to the community, society and country.
One of the roles of education is to solve problem. In education, I quoted from Prof.
Dato Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin at Higher Education Dean Seminar, 2013, had once said,
we face what we know, how to know and how to deal with what we already know, thus in
my personal opinion, as an educator myself, TARIE 2015 has provided a great platform for
our young ambitious students to venture out in the world of invention to challenge
themselves to how to know and how to deal with what they have already known.
I am honoured to be a part of Tarie 2015, I would like to express millions of gratitude
towards all the committee members of TARIE 2015, who have put a lot of effort in making
TARIE 2015 a success. I pray and hope that TARIE will be an annual event for TATIUC.
