Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) is a centre of excellence facilitating social impacts and
organizational behaviour change towards incorporating responsible business strategies, policies
and practices that contribute to harmonious industrial relations in workplace, organisational productivity and growth. CRB works with and supports actors and stakeholders across the business landscape and supply chains - national and transnational corporations, brands and buyers, local manufacturers and suppliers (SMEs), national and international organisations, civil society organisations and governments - as they promote and move towards a more sustainable and responsible future. CRB develops capacity building and research programmes and multi-stakeholder initiatives in the field of CSR/sustainable development and around social and environmental standards in supply chains. CRB helps build capacities for design, development and implementation of self- and coregulatory social and environmental standards as instruments and mechanisms for promoting responsible business policies and practices. CRBs work focuses on the essence of voluntary standards and regulations that support stakeholders across the companies and their supply chains along with focus on impact of interventions on workers, working conditions, worker rights and responsibilities, factories, farms and producers and their business and the environment. A pioneer in the field, Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) is a catalyst for organizational behavior and change, working closely with organizations to transform their business practices. CRBs distinctive training methods and customized advisory services enable enterprises to adopt environmentally responsible practices and espouse workers rights and responsibilities. Both owners and workers thus become stakeholders in the growth and success of the organization. CRB has worked with several companies and brands, hundreds of factories and over 1000 middle management representatives since 2010, reaching out to 150,000 workers to pilot and test models and approaches of capacity building in areas of approach to improved social and environmental performance, data collection and analysis, human resource management, business owner, manager, supervisor, and worker trainings, factory training and development systems and induction approaches for workers, and has observed very encouraging results. CRBs conceptualisation, implementation and research capabilities draw on the strength of its core team of specialists and its extended network of experts spanning various regions and specialising in crosscutting domains relating to responsible business. CRB has established a network of experts globally and in several locations locally in India to inform, design and implement various initiative. These experts come from various disciplines and together comprise a robust development and implementation team. CRBs approach to implementation draws from its focus on enabling change and therefore aims at a holistic empowerment and unbiased analysis of any situation. CRBs work aims to contribute to creating an enabled ecosystem, and therefore CRB adopts an action-oriented approach which looks at an interplay of socio-economic and political factors at work vis-a-vis an industry sector under consideration, designs and develop creative solutions and also implement with diligence.
