sophomore setter Sheri Davis earned All-Tournament team honors
after recording 78 assists, 13 kills and 16 digs.
In game one, the Niners went head to head with host Coastal
Carolina, where Charlotte took the 3-1 victory (27-25, 25-21, 20-25,
25-17).
In the first set, Coastal took a 4-1 lead, but the Niners pushed
forward and tied the set at five. Both teams struggled to maintain a
lead of more than three.
Charlotte took control of the second set. Senior Jenn Webb gave
Charlotte the 16-15 lead in the second set, and with some assistance
from Davis, the two were able to capitalize on three Coastal errors.
